The Rollright Stones comprise three Bronze Age and Neolithic stone monuments situated not far from the village of Long Compton, which is itself located on the border between Oxfordshire and Warwickshire in England. They were constructed using local limestone and have become known as the 'King's Men' and the 'Whispering Knights' in Oxfordshire, as well as 'the King Stone' in Warwickshire. This volume the history and origins of the stones, with special reference to their mention in poetry and prose.
