This paper is an excerpt from Chapter 17 of The Obama vs. Romney Debate on Economic Growth (iUniverse September 2012). Chapter 17 deals with Social Security and Medicare, and this excerpt addresses the Romney-Ryan position on Medicare and the claim by Governor Romney that Obamacare “cuts Medicare by approximately $500 billion,” which later morphed into $700 billion.
