Stop settling for the life you have and live the one Jesus died to give you. Book summary/description: Does your relationship with God feel distant and unfulfilled? Are you exhausted by dutifully checking off a spiritual to-do list? Do you yearn for a more satisfying and joyful walk with Christ that feels less like hard work? Along comes a book daring us not to settle for anything less than what the Bible promises. Let Shellie Rushing Tomlinson illuminate a path that leads you away from formulaic, duty-bound Christianity toward a deep and wide life spent joyfully surrendered to Jesus. With her signature Southern warmth and humor and poignant storytelling, Shellie retells familiar Bible stories and recasts them in a grace-filled way that will help you see the life Jesus offers you so freely. Her honest, heartfelt, and often hilarious stories of family life in Louisiana reveal Shellie’s own journey from being a rule-following Christian to discovering “the joy of dying to all that trying.” In Finding Deep and Wide, Shellie invites you to stop trying to please God, and be beautifully transformed by Him instead. Ideal for individual and group study, Finding Deep and Wide includes questions for reflection and growth at the end of each chapter.

Venture into the blackness of space with Dewey D. Whites well-wrought The Deep, Wide, and Dark. The science is nothing short of sorcery as an extra-terrestrial humanoid named John Jay Corsey gives mankind a dimensional boost from Einsteins quantum theory for the love of a twenty-year-old stripper. With science heretofore unknown to humans but which was found to be related to the alien spacecraft that crash-landed near Roswell, New Mexico, Corsey becomes the center of a massive project to build the first faster than light starship to take flight into universa incognita searching for two unearthly elements, but quickly more than rocks are found by the newly-minted Space Marine Corps. Corsey found mankind (specifically the U.S. government) unprepared but willing to build the machine. They jumped right in to the project with the verve and gusto typical of modern man: cobbling together human and extra-terrestrial science to make it a shining reality. On a fenced-in, 200 sq. mile swath of Arizona-New Mexico desert, Sol Base One is built. The nascent masters of the deep, wide, and dark universal empyrean, the Space Marines Corps recruits the best minds and bodies to man the Terrain Explorer, the first starship in human history. The rush to build it becomes a race as world politics views it as an unwise decision and prepares to stymie the ships launch after the Space Marines crafty commandant refuses to reveals the program and its intentions. The next decision made is to launch the mission (425 men on board the Terrain Explorer) before the U.N. could send in inspection teams. And thus, the fate of humanitys first venture into the stars is sealed. Join Capt. Jackson Edison Jed Devlon and the crew of the Terrain Explorer in what promises to be a thrilling, masterful exploration of the possibilities of time and space. Will they land on earth-like worlds such as humanity knows, therefore solidifying the fact of infinite replication in the universe? Who, amongst the extra-terrestrial races will they meet and who will be their friend or enemy? How will they survive? The permutations grip readers with excitement. The writing is riveting in detail and shines with crystal-clear believability. The future is at stake

A collection of stories from one of Maine’s master fishing guides. There is little about the remote town Grand Lake Stream, in eastern Maine, and its surrounding lakes that Randy Spencer doesn’t know like the back of his hand. Spencer, a Master Maine Guide, has learned from the best, and has enough experience as a hunting and fishing guide to fill several lifetimes. Wide and Deep transports readers to remote backwoods and crystal clear lakes. At its most remote, rural Maine is truly breathtaking in its natural beauty, and Spencer is unrivaled in his ability to capture like no other the experiences of fishing and hunting in some of the most hidden and undisturbed areas in the world. The relationship between a sport and his guide is an ongoing conversation, one that can last hours, days, and even years. The company you offer is just as valued as the company you keep. Whether they are stories of joy or of pain, there is nothing like listening to Randy Spencer, and Wide and Deep perfectly captures the moments on the water that people wait their entire lives for and spend the rest of their lives remembering. Skyhorse Publishing is proud to publish a broad range of books for fishermen. Our books for anglers include titles that focus on fly fishing, bait fishing, fly-casting, spin casting, deep sea fishing, and surf fishing. Our books offer both practical advice on tackle, techniques, knots, and more, as well as lyrical prose on fishing for bass, trout, salmon, crappie, baitfish, catfish, and more. While not every title we publish becomes a New York Times bestseller or a national bestseller, we are committed to publishing books on subjects that are sometimes overlooked by other publishers and to authors whose work might not otherwise find a home.

The launching of this hitherto unpublished book by the great nineteenth-century British traveler Edward William Lane (1801-76), a name known to almost everyone in all the many fields of Middle East studies, is a major publishing event. Lane was the author of a number of highly influential works: An Account of the Manners and Customs of the Modern Egyptians (1836), his translation of The Thousand and One Nights (1839-41), Selections from the Kur-an (1843), and the Arabic-English Lexicon (1863-93). Yet one of his greatest works was never published: after years of labor and despite an enthusiastic reception by the publishing firm of John Murray in 1831, publication of his first book, Description of Egypt, was delayed and eventually dropped, mainly for financial reasons. The manuscript was sold to the British Library by Lane's widow in 1891, and has only now been salvaged for publication by Dr. Jason Thompson, nearly 170 years after its completion. This enormously important book, which takes the form of a journey through Egypt from north to south, with descriptions of all the ancient monuments and contemporary life that Lane explored along the way, will be of immense interest to both ancient and modern historians of Egypt, and will become an essential companion to his Manners and Customs. ''Jason Thompson's exact and dedicated edition deserves much praise.''-Astene Newsletter, June 2002. ''Thompson, a historian at AUC, has done signal service in taking a manuscript dating from 1831 and preparing it for publication so many years later; AUC Press deserves praise for making so major a work available, and at so reasonable a price.''-Daniel Pipes, Middle East Quarterly, June 2001. ''In all, the appearance of this major work of scholarship at this late date is a major boon to the study of Egypt's history between the pharaohs and 18280.''-Daniel Pipes, Middle East Quarterly, June 2001.
