Have you ever longed for a soul-enriching personal retreat with a spiritual master that you could experience in the comfort and privacy of your own home? Well, your wait is over, because this extraordinary volume by the Theologian of the Pontifical Household, Fr. Wojciech Giertych, O.P., aspires to nothing less than giving you intimate "eye contact" with God. In his deeply penetrating and engaging style, Fr. Giertych reveals how to cultivate the theological and moral virtues in your daily life. He describes faith as a spark plug: "Every time we make an act of faith, the supernatural life is triggered; there is the ignition of the supernatural life, and power comes out of Jesus." Miracles happen, he attests, when we show faith -- like the woman who touched Jesus' cloak, and His heart, with her belief and was healed of a hemorrhage. You will learn how to pray in faith each time you pray, even when your faith has been challenged. You will also learn how to go beyond intellectual reasoning and experience and how to nourish the supernatural quality of faith. You will see how a mustard seed of faith can lead to contemplative prayer and communion with Jesus and will learn ways to introduce children to contemplative prayer. This book reveals how to demonstrate authentic love in marriage and how to regard sexuality as an expression of charity, regardless of your vocation. It relates how to foster a pure faith, free of "mental contraceptives" that block the life of the Holy Spirit. Additionally, it clarifies the connection between faith and reason and their role in Catholic social ethics. Best of all, Fr. Giertych explains how Christ shows us the "Face of the Father" and His paternal heart. In His divine mercy, Jesus pours His power out through us. In this radiance, you will view different aspects of the virtue of hope -- how to rekindle it in your life and share it with the world. These pages also illustrate how: The regular practice of contemplative prayer draws an outpouring of God's grace upon us We're made holy and learn to encounter the mysterious presence of God by "the struggle" of faith Surrendering our lives in trustful offering to God brings Him joy and frees us of discouragement We can learn to be "a child before God" and thereby grow in receptivity to the Holy Spirit and receive healing We can "borrow" divine love, like St. Thérèse, and thus quench God's thirst and nourish others St. Thomas Aquinas defines the essence and order of charity toward others

The excerpts from the book for quick awareness: 1. Those who love God but do not practise a religion are better than you if you follow a religion and yet are deprived of Gods love. 2. Love relates to the heart. The word, Allah, when synchronised within heartbeats, reaches all veins and arteries through the blood and revives the souls. Then the souls, engulfed by Gods name, Allah, enter Gods love. 3. All names given to God in all languages are worthy of respect. However, Gods original name is Allah, which is a word from the Suryani language. The creatures of empyrean speak this language. The angels call upon God with the name of Allah. Allah is attached with the faith declaration motto of every prophet. 4. Any person who, with all the sincerity of heart, is in search for God, on land or in the sea, is worthy of respect. 5. Many Adams were sent in different regions of the world simultaneously. All Adams were moulded from the clay in this world, for except the last Adam who was moulded from the clay in paradise, and is buried in the Arab region. The angels did not prostrate to any other Adam for except Adam Safi Allah. And Iblis (the Devil) developed enmity for the progeny of Adam Safi Allah only. 6. There are seven different sub-spirits in the human skeleton, and each relates to a different realm, a different paradise, and different functions in the human body. If these sub-spirits are empowered with Gods light (Noor), they may appear in human form in many places simultaneously. They may reach the esoteric gatherings of the saints and the prophets, speak with God, and even see God in person also. 7. There are two different types of religions for all humans: the religion for the body, which expires when the body does, and the religion for the soul, which existed even in the primordial timethat is Gods love. And only this religion elevates humans. 8. Ishq (Rapturous Love) of Allah is above all other religions, and seeing Allah is above all forms of worship. 9. Information on how human beings, animals, plants, and stones were brought into existence, and why something is prohibited or permissible. 10. Who pre-existed the Amr Kun (the command Be) of the souls and the angels? Which dog will enter the paradise in form of Qatmir? The souls of which individuals had already affirmed the declaration of faith in the primordial time? The secret of which man is not mentioned in this book?

In Divine Marriage from Eden to the End of Days, André Villeneuve explores the mystery of God’s love in the Bible and ancient Jewish tradition. Scripture portrays the covenant between God and his people as a divine-human marriage spanning through all of human history. For the ancient Jewish interpreters, God married humanity at the dawn of creation in the Garden of Eden; but the union was broken by human sin. The Lord restored the relationship when he betrothed Israel at Mount Sinai; yet the covenant was wounded again with the transgression of the golden calf. The nuptial bond was healed anew, commemorated, and reenacted through liturgical worship in Israel’s tabernacle and temple. This worship in God’s “nuptial chamber,” in turn, anticipated the ultimate fulfillment of the divine-human marriage in the messianic age at the end of history. The first part of the book explores the marriage through Israel’s biblical history in light of ancient Jewish exegesis. The second part unveils the marriage in the ancient interpretation of the Song of Songs and in wisdom literature. The third part reveals how the same symbolism is taken up in the New Testament and applied to the marriage between Christ and the Church.

The Showings of Divine Love is a book of Christian mystical devotions written by Julian of Norwich. It is believed to be the first published book in the English language to be written by a woman. At the age of thirty, 13 May 1373, Julian was struck with a serious illness. As she prayed and prepared for death, she received a series of sixteen visions on the Passion of Christ and the Virgin Mary. Saved from the brink of death, Julian of Norwich dedicated her life to solitary prayer and the contemplation of the visions she had received. She wrote a short account of her visions probably soon after the event. About twenty or thirty years after her illness, near the end of the fourteenth century, she wrote down her visions and her understanding of them. This is the Grace Warrack translation that brought this great work the recognition it deserved.

Acclaimed spiritual writer Fr. Wilfrid Stinissen presents insightful reflections on the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Holy Trinity, emphasizing the importance of the Spirit in the life of a Christian. He illustrates that the Holy Spirit desires to live in us so that we can love God and others with God's own love. As the Holy Spirit descended upon the early Church at Pentecost to set the world ablaze with the fire of divine love, so He wants to do with us. God, who is One, also desires the Church to be one, Fr. Stinissen writes. The Lord wants to unify all Christians in one holy Church, and all people in one body. The Holy Spirit is the great unifier, he says, for it is he who makes the Father and the Son one God. If Christians let him live within them, they will grow in unity.

The fourteenth-century anchorite known as Julian of Norwich offered fervent prayers for a deeper understanding of Christ's passion. The holy woman's petitions were answered with a series of divine revelations that she called "shewings." Her mystic visions revealed Christ's sufferings with extreme intensity, but they also confirmed God's constant love for humanity and infinite capacity for forgiveness. Julian of Norwich's Revelations of Divine Love have had a lasting influence on Christian thought. Written in immediate, compelling terms, her experiences remain among the most original and accessible expressions of medieval mysticism. This edition contains both the short text, which is mainly an account of the shewings and Julian's initial analysis of their meaning, and the long text, completed some 20 years later and offering daringly speculative interpretations.
