What extremes would you go to for the chance to achieve your dream life? Disgraced former LAPD officer Don Butler scams people out of their money in the hopes of affording a life of relaxation on the beaches of Costa Rica with his former fashion model girlfriend, Alejandra—if he doesn’t get caught by the cops first. Alejandra’s probation-jumping new roommate, Megan, is thrilled to begin a career as a stripper at The Jungle Room. Her new mentor, long-time dancer and drug addict Tyrianne, promises to bring her to the top of her profession with cash and partying beyond her wildest dreams. But when the drugs and booze get out of control, there are harsh consequences to pay. Tommy has discovered that having a regular desk job isn’t quite as creative as playing out the fantasies of middle-aged businessmen—unless they don’t pay up. Kirk has been abused one too many times by boyfriends promising him the world, and now he’s stuck in a job he despises with a boss he loathes even more. Can he escape before his burgeoning paranoia leaks too far into his day job? Experience L.A.’s seedy underbelly, where all roads lead to deceit, betrayal, or murder! Pink has become the hottest color in interiors. Quartz Pink was the Pantone color of 2016 and since then the hue has gone from strength to strength, playing a starring role at the 2018 Milan Design Week. "From advertising to design and fashion, millennial pink has taken popular culture by storm, and it isn't going anywhere" House & Garden Pink House Living is a beautiful, practical guide to decorating with pink by Emily Murray of the award-winning The Pink House blog. Emily draws on her recent interiors projects to guide the reader through their own rose-tinted renovations and includes case studies on well-known interiors experts that reveal their use of pink, their go-to paint shades and where they glean "pinkspiration". Pink House Living is not about decorating your home in pink from rooftop to rugs, but a look at how the color can be used alongside other hues—sometimes sparingly, sometimes in spades. Divided up by room, the book uses the color pink and its history as a starting point from which to discuss the decorating process. Readers will be entertained by Emily’s interiors insights and witty turn of phrase while gaining invaluable advice on adding pink—and color in general—to their homes.

Jungle Mission is a poignant account of René Riesen’s life and mission during the First Indochina War amongst the Montagnards, and his ever growing love for these people by going native, learning their language, their traditions, their rituals, and their way of life. During World War II, Riesen worked briefly for the Vichy government and, following liberation, received a 20-year prison sentence. He volunteered to serve in the “BILOM” (Bataillon Leger d’Infanterie d’Outre-Mer), where WWII political prisoners could redeem themselves. Arriving in Saigon in May 1950 as a Colonial Infantry “2eme Classe” soldier affected to the BILOM—which by then had ceased to exist and most of its soldiers assigned to the BMEO (“Bataillon de Marche Extreme Orient”) created in January 1950—Riesen was assigned to the 1st Company, 4th BMEO at the outpost of Kon Plong, controlling access to the coastal plains of Son Ha and Ba To; this post was located about a day’s travel away from Kontum, positioned on a 1,800m high peak, where the rainy season lasted about seven months, with thick fog present almost every day. In December 1950, the 4th BMEO was renamed to the 4th Montagnard battalion, and its HQ remained at Ban Mé Thuot whilst its Battalions operated around Kontum. Riesen would go on to serve four years in the Kontum area and joined the GCMA after its formation, serving under Captain Hentic (“L’action Hre”). For his services in French Indochina, Corporal Riesen was awarded the French Croix de Guerre, the Croix des T.O.E (Théâtres d’opérations extérieures) and the Croix de la Vaillance Vietnamienne, with palm for his actions in French Indochina. As with many others, following his tour in Indochina Riesen was sent to the much quieter operational theatre of Algeria; however, this area too did not remain peaceful for long, escalating quickly into full warfare, and Riesen and his wife died during an ambush by Arabs in December 1956.
