When the wicked have traveled a course of sin, and discover they have reason to fear the God;s judgement and wrath for their sins, they begin to wish there is no God to punish them, then by degrees they persuade themselves there is no God, and then they set themselves to study the arguments to support their opinion. This excellent book by John Bunyan covers the subject matter of the existence of heaven and hell as well as studies and dispells the arguments presented by sinners who argue there is no heaven and hell. Most do not know that Bunyan wrote some 60 books, and poetry too. And also almost a well-kept secret is that his doctrine was so biblically laced that many good men would call him too severe. He believed in, and taught, ALL the doctrines of grace, including double-predestination, or reprobation. Why then is he not smeared with the name of hyper-Calvinist like Goodwin, Gill, and others? I guess the same people ought to call Luther a hyper-Lutheran, for he believed and taught it, too. Why begin a review of Bunyan's writings with such a view of his doctrine? It is to show that a Pilgrim's Progress can come only from someone who believes and teaches ALL the counsel of God, without flinching, yea, with loving-kindness. Illegally, He sat in a jail cell over a river for 12 years with his Bible, Galatians by Luther, and another book or two. He had the choice of feeling miserable and murmuring, or of filling his time, thoughts, and energies with studying that Bible, and seeking a way to be of help to his more comfortable, but less dedicated, brothers and sisters. Listen, dear saints, you can't do any better than reading Bunyan. Like Gurnall, he covers everything here and there, and with a sweetness that can come only from God. What a shame that his large heart should be encased in such small print. But, like digging gold, it is worth the time and trouble to dig spiritual gold. Bunyan (1628-1688) rose from an humble beginning to being a preacher to a little house church, to 12 years in jail because he would not agree to quit preaching, to a huge church in London. He wrote 66 books, nearly all while in jail.

When Joan Spenser's twelve-year-old grandson asks her what birthday parties were like when she was his age, she has to admit that she did not go to many. Later, thinking about this conversation and how different things are today, Joan's memory takes off on a journey it has travelled many times before, back through the years to Southeast London in 1956. While visiting a local museum with her mother, young Joan comes across an unusual and fascinating painting which seems to depict some form of Heaven and Hell. It is in turn beautiful and yet darkly disturbing, and Joan is so mesmerized by it that it will influence her perception of events - some happy, some tragic - that are to occur in the coming months. With the specter of the ancient painting never far from her mind, Joan makes her way through a difficult and at times bewildering year in which she learns that life is not always fair, and people are often not what they appear to be.

Heaven and hell: Are they real? What are they like? How do we get to heaven? Can a loving God allow such a thing as hell? The afterlife fascinates us as a concept both difficult to comprehend and impossible to ignore. Atheists deny that there is any world after this one, and many people of faith believe there can only be good things to come. Believe in it or not, however, we can't stop debating it, questioning it, or thinking about it. Into this mix of opinion, doubt, and faith come the stories of those mystics who have actually journeyed to heaven or hell and come back to tell about it. Survivors of near-death experiences provide insight into the transition from this world to the next. Some have stories of heavenly peace so profound they can't believe hell could exist. Others have witnessed those torments and can testify that it does. Theologian Andrew S. Park uses these accounts to paint a vivid portrait of the afterlife while also providing an explanation for hell's existence despite God's undeniable love for us, giving much-needed guidance to those who may be thinking of ending their own lives, and offering comfort to those who grieve.

A visceral, first-hand account of the afterlife. Laurie Ditto's life was forever marked when she experienced supernatural visions of hell. She knew these encounters were meant as a wake-up call for herself and others, so she has made it her mission to share this message with the world. The Hell Conspiracy is a somber warning. It records harrowing accounts of souls enduring endless torture and eternal separation from God. It also reveals terrifying secrets of the afterlife in Hell, including... The five pains of hell: water, bone marrow, breath, agreement, and the garment. The activity of demons. The connection between unforgiveness and eternal torment. The ultimate destination and fate of the condemned. The changing shape of people's bodies in hell. But this book is also a beacon of hope! These horrors are contrasted with the glorious hope of Heaven. Those who receive salvation through Jesus escape torment and experience an eternity of life as it was meant to be: as renewed bodies, souls, and spirits in perfect relationship with God. The alarm is sounding! Heaven and Hell are real. Where will you go?
