In the darkness of night, a haunting, reddish-orange moon slowly creeps up into the sky as a whisper of gray smoke slithers up through the rocky, dry soil covering a make shift grave, growing as it rises, slowly taking form. Long fingernails curving downward, looking more like claws than fingernails, rise up out of the grave as her midnight black hair glistens in the moonlight, her arms and hands spreading outward, pushing her upward. Her skin now pale with a grayish tint, rotting and sunken in around her neck, cheeks and eye sockets, pulls tightly against her skull, emphasizing its bony structure and looking more like a skull than a face. The cut on her lower jaw and chin ripped open, exposing her jawbone, the grave taking its toll. Rising up, the gold colored dress with black lace now fully visible, she raises her hands towards the full moon, an eerie, moaning sound filling the night as tears of blood drip down from dark, black holes where her eyes once were. Softly touching her face, standing above the arroyo where her body is buried, she realizes this is where it happened, right on this spot. In flashes, she sees him hitting her, tastes the blood in her mouth and feels him ripping her eyes from her skull, as her world turns dark.

Book 1 of 5Daisy Hammel-Kavanaugh lives a perfectly average life in the Arizona desert, except for one thing. She's a witch. Her relatives and ancestors consist of various, and sometimes colorful, paranormals. When Daisy is attacked by a mystical, ghost-like figure, she must enlist the aid of those she trusts in her quest to find and eliminate this enemy before he destroys her. There's another problem. To ensure her success, she must somehow get her hands on a treasured and protected Native American artifact, without pissing off the entire Indian community. Desert creatures, ancient myths, sex and magick abound in Daisy's world but can she trust herself to know what is real and what isn't?

This essay collection focuses on the gendered dimensions of reality television in both the United States and Great Britain. Through close readings of a wide range of reality programming, from Finding Sarah and Sister Wives to Ghost Adventures and Deadliest Warrior, the contributors think through questions of femininity and masculinity, as they relate to the intersections of gender, race, class, and sexuality. They connect the genre's combination of real people and surreal experiences, of authenticity and artifice, to the production of identity and norms of citizenship, the commodification of selfhood, and the naturalization of regimes of power. Whether assessing the Kardashian family brand, portrayals of hoarders, or big-family programs such as 19 Kids and Counting, the contributors analyze reality television as a relevant site for the production and performance of gender. In the process, they illuminate the larger neoliberal and postfeminist contexts in which reality TV is produced, promoted, watched, and experienced. Contributors. Nicoll's History, which tells the story of English drama from the reopening of the theatres at the time of the Restoration right through to the end of the Victorian period, was viewed by Notes and Queries (1952) as 'a great work of exploration, a detailed guide to the untrodden acres of our dramatic history, hitherto largely ignored as barren and devoid of interest'.
