In this book Ralph Smith delves deeper into the discussion at the intersection of covenant and trinitarian theology that he began with 'Paradox and Truth.' Though many Reformed theologians have recognized an agreement between the Father and the Son for the salvation of the human race, few have explored the vast theological possibilities of an eternal covenant that involves all three persons of the Trinity. Instead, covenantal soteriology has focused on the so-called covenant of works between God and Adam, which turns out to be problematic both biblically and theologically. Smith places the eternal covenant in the position it deserves - the keystone of biblical and systematic theology - with profound consequences for the Christian worldview.

Schleiermacher’s readers have long been familiar with his proposal for an ‘eternal covenant’ between theology and natural science. Yet there is disagreement both about what this ‘covenant’ amounts to, why Schleiermacher proposed it, and how he meant it to be persuasive. In The Eternal Covenant, Pedersen argues, contrary to received wisdom, that the ‘eternal covenant’ is not first a methodological or political proposal but is, rather, the end result of a complex case from the doctrine of God, the notion of a world, and an account of divine action. With his compound case against miracles, Schleiermacher secures the in-principle explicability of everything in the world through natural causes. However, his case is not only negative. Far from a mere concession, the eternal covenant is an argument for what Schleiermacher calls, ‘the essential identity of ethics and natural philosophy.’ Indeed, because the nature system is both intended for love and wisely ordered, the world is a supremely beautiful divine artwork and is, therefore, the absolute self-revelation of God. Schleiermacher’s case is a challenging alternative to reigning accounts of God, nature, divine action, and the relationship between religion and science.

Ellet Joseph Waggoner (1855 – 1916) was a leading Seventh-day Adventist preacher and writer. He writes, "The Bible was written for no other purpose than to show the way of life. It contains history and biography, but these are parts of the Gospel Message. Not one line is written except to reveal Christ; whoever reads it for any other purpose than to find in it the way of salvation from sin, reads it in vain; studied in the light of Calvary, it is a delight, and things that would otherwise be obscure are made clear as the noonday. The pages that follow are designed as an aid to all who would look at the precepts and promises of the Bible in their true setting. One line runs through the entire Bible, God’s everlasting covenant. Standing at the Cross, one can see the working of God’s eternal purpose, which He purposed “in Christ before the world began.” The history from Paradise lost till Paradise restored, is set forth as in a panorama."

Benjamin Breckinridge Warfield (1851-1921) was undoubtedly one of the greatest Reformed theologians in the history of America. As professor of didactic and polemic theology at Princeton Theological Seminary, he wrote extensively in defense of fundamental Christian doctrines. While his writing touched on the full spectrum of theological topics, it was spread over hundreds of periodicals, books, and pamphlets, and a significant portion has never been published in an accessible form. Warfield stands as a dominant figure on the theological landscape, but few have a comprehensive grasp of his theology, largely because of the difficulty of tracing his ideas through numerous sources. Fred G. Zaspel has spent many years studying Warfield's published and unpublished writing, and presents here a concise and coherent systematic theology per B. B. Warfield. For the first time ever, readers can, in one volume, access the content of this great theologian's academic, sermonic, and devotional works. Scholars, pastors, and students will profit from the unique combination of comprehensive detail and devotional warmth in this systematic theology.

The wedding is coming! The wedding is coming! Zoe Lake and Aric Winters are ready to say "I do." They've fought sphinxes, witches, and monster hunters - and all they want now is peace. Unfortunately, that's not so easy to find. When the wedding planners - and warring mothers - descend on their happy home, Aric and Zoe are plunged into a world they never expected. Zoe doesn't desire a white dress, and she certainly doesn't want a champagne fountain, but her wishes are pushed aside to make way for the people who want to make a showcase out of her special day. Nothing is simple in Zoe and Aric's world, and that includes the new threat - which looks very much like an old one. The most powerful mage in the Midwest is a coveted commodity. Everyone wants her power, but only one man wants her love. Aric and Zoe aren't afraid of a fight, but the one pressing down on them is something they never expected. Can Zoe wage a war without giving up the only thing she's ever truly wanted? Can one happy couple put old demons to rest and walk down an aisle littered with past mistakes and regret? And, more importantly, can destiny really exert a powerful hand and let happily ever after be a reality? It's time for Zoe and Aric to make the ultimate pledge - no matter what evil force opts to stand in their way.

It answers questions involving eternal covenant in the Bible by beginning with an exegetical study of Berit Olam" in the Pentateuch. The study reveals that Berit Olam" actually represents a bilateral and conditional arrangement that reflects certain common themes as it is used within distinct passages.
