Communication is vital not only to human existence and communal living but to existence itself. The whole of creation involves communication with each being communicating its existence and essence. Hence, the indefatigable quests to understanding what nature is communicating within itself. The different beings, and beings within Being, continue in this Communicative Act for better coordination and wellbeing of the total existence. Religiously, God communicates something out of nothing that all begin to communicate their presence. God continues to communicate His Being to His creation, and His creation keeps communicating with the Creator with and through others. In fact, one can say, to Be, is to Communicate. Thus, anything or anyone that Is cannot not communicate! Through this book, THE BIOPSYCHOSOCIOSPIRITUAL COMMUNICATION, different scholars in the fields of psychology, theology, communication and education examined how communication interplay with human interactions with the cosmos and works of life.

A spirituality discourse in substance abuse treatment offers useful unconventional constructs in treatment services to ethnic minority groups with substance use disorder (SUDs). It is important to locate spirituality within culture, place, and history in order to understand the spiritual needs of persons from minority groups with SUDs. There are many studies that merit a spiritual approach in treatment for ethnic minority groups with SUDs. However, spirituality is a broad concept that means different things to different people. Therefore, such an unconventional approach should be approached critically and cautiously. This chapter looks at the utilisation of an integrated eclectic approach with a focus on inclusion of spirituality in treatment services from a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective. Tapping into the spiritual needs and the meaning that people ascribe to spirituality and religion (S&R) in treatment services is often more valued than conventional secular treatment services. Also, the client,Äôs spirituality is generally overlooked by professionals offering such services simply because it is so controversial. This chapter proposes an integrated eclectic methodology calling for a biopsychosocial-spiritual perspective to address the needs and well-being of ethnic minority groups with SUDs as a comprehensive person-centred and holistic approach, utilising mindfulness techniques.

All About Healing Addiction using Holistic Approach & Presented in Blatantly Honest Way. This Personal Insight Will Move You Towards Your Inner Power! V.K. Ramsey's very personal book approaches addiction recovery in a new and very different way, from what addicts or their family members, as well as codependents have been offered so far. He clearly highlights that fighting with, and eventually facing addiction, is something that deserves all respect, support and love! His supportive approach was created and continues to develop over almost twenty years, and being a recovered addict himself, stems from his personal experience of isolation with his pain and being labeled as a hopeless case, who was very much left to his own devises. His research is wide-spread and in-depth, his unwavering care in suggesting an array of ways to help oneself as an addict heart-warming, his quest to uncover the truth behind one's pain as well as the root-cause of an addiction is relentless, and his courage to share his own journey, write about self-love, mindfulness as well as compassion, is inspiring! Attempting to find the right approach towards healing an addiction, it starts with, that addiction is not a disease, contrary to what everyone might have been told or to what more or less every author suggests and continues to find a solution and offers effective recovery strategies. Stating that addiction, in its essence, is a bio psychosocial disorder and as such, requires clear understanding and a holistic treatment, the author finds it imperative that anyone who suffers from addiction needs to be treated simultaneously on the mental, emotional, physical as well as spiritual level. Why? Because he rightly uncovers that the widespread 'disease model' of addiction does not solve the problem and worse, dehumanizes the individual. Yet when one tries to really understand addiction as a behavioral disorder, which ignited into existence through suffering and pain, one can finally treat it effectively and achieve the long term results every addict truly hoped for!

This open access book is a systematic update of the philosophical and scientific foundations of the biopsychosocial model of health, disease and healthcare. First proposed by George Engel 40 years ago, the Biopsychosocial Model is much cited in healthcare settings worldwide, but has been increasingly criticised for being vague, lacking in content, and in need of reworking in the light of recent developments. The book confronts the rapid changes to psychological science, neuroscience, healthcare, and philosophy that have occurred since the model was first proposed and addresses key issues such as the model’s scientific basis, clinical utility, and philosophical coherence. The authors conceptualise biology and the psychosocial as in the same ontological space, interlinked by systems of communication-based regulatory control which constitute a new kind of causation. These are distinguished from physical and chemical laws, most clearly because they can break down, thus providing the basis for difference between health and disease. This work offers an urgent update to the model’s scientific and philosophical foundations, providing a new and coherent account of causal interactions between the biological, the psychological and social.
