Included are words of encouragement, suggestions, and caution to newly diagnosed cancer sufferers from those who have gone before. It is a handbook of helps and insights from one family member to another. Those who have been there and have survived the pitfalls and discomforts of chemotherapy, radiation, surgery and diagnostic scans tell their stories. The power of prayer, journaling, group support, cards, letters, electronic social media, calls, and visits all play a part in helping cancer survivors and care givers to arrive at a place where they can say "Thank You God for Cancer " It is about their victories.

For the past three years, I have been on a journey that has changed my life in the most powerful way. I have experienced all the medical challenges that come and go with cancer diagnoses and the little day-to-day challenges with life. I have been able to stand and to move through this journey with the guidance of family and friends and the mercy of God in my life. This work has enabled me to be strengthened by the challenges and faith that I have been afforded to have and witness. For those people who have faced this challenge in their lives and have the courage to fight, I wish you all God’s love and care. For those people who are new to a cancer challenge, I pray that this book will be an enlightenment to you and help you to face whatever comes to you on your journey. A devoted man of the cloth, Reverend Oscar Pereda decided to go against his doctor’s wishes and face cancer in his own way: by trusting God’s plan and surrounding himself with his loving family. Over the course of his journey, Rev. Pereda goes through a radical transformation, from being desperate and fearful to having a deep gratitude for God and His Grace. About the Author Myriam Pereda was born in Asunción, Paraguay. She and her husband were leaders of all the Nazarene Churches in Paraguay, South America, and North Carolina. The entire family later moved to the United States, where she exercised pastoral ministry and counseling. Her long career of more than thirty years of ministry has opened doors for her to travel sharing the gospel and discover cultures of other countries. She currently resides in North Carolina and is completing her master’s degree.

Wow! The title of this book is not what I expected. This book will make you think of how little we actually appreciate what we already have. If you do not walk away with a diamond nugget that will affect your life, I advise a reread. It is going to hit your visit your advise.
