This is a continuation of the several previous “legacy” books about Saint Finbarr’s College, Lagos, Nigeria. It is a book of historical legacy of the school, with a long-term reputation for academic excellence, student discipline, and soccer superiority. The focus of this book is to salute, recognize, and celebrate the special group of Students, the athletes, particularly the soccer players. Much has been written about the accomplishments of other groups of ex-Finbarrians, but nothing has been written collectively about the soccer players. It is a book targeting the alumni of the school to bring appropriate glory and recognition to the soccer players of the school, many of whom have gone on to play for the Nigerian National Team as well as play professionally around the world.

The title “Wreckless in the City” is a humorous play on the words reckless (as in carelessness) and wreck (as in a traffic wreck). The hope is that with the lessons learned in this book, traffic wrecks due to recklessness could be reduced, if not eliminated, on city streets and beyond. Although the guide is primarily for teenage drivers, it is also applicable to all drivers (experienced adults included). Not only will readers learn about safe-driving tips and guidelines, the real science of physics, as it relates to motion, can also be appreciated. If I can get the reader’s initial attention through a humorous opening, I will have a chance of retaining the attention through the other critical steps of getting my point across. The goal is to have “wreckless” driving experiences in the city and everywhere else. Auto accidents are the leading cause of death among teenagers, particularly young men. Worldwide records show that every year, almost two million people are killed in road accidents and about 50 million more are seriously injured.

Margin of Death is a cautionary note on death being a slim margin away in the activities we engage in. The book presents safety and life-preservation tips to avoid, minimize, or mitigate accidental disasters that could rob people of their precious lives. Although the topic is serious and unnerving, this book is written in a humorous tone, perhaps to put readers at ease. Life is always at risk from a variety of sources, ranging from accidental, negligent, and deliberate acts. While natural age-driven death is accepted, we should minimize exposure to other non-scheduled, life-robbing incidents, a majority of which are manmade. A near miss is the one we know about, but the narrow margins are the ones we never know.

This is a math-mentoring book without the gory mathematical expressions. The intended purpose of this book is to allay the fear of mathematics that most people have. Math is actually a tame and fun ally in accomplishing a lot of things in life, such as investment, social networking, commerce, technology, engineering, and science. I encourage and spark the interest of young people, especially girls, to embrace Mathematics to their full potential. The inherent mathematical ability may be there, but the confidence and pathway to manifest and leverage the ability may not be known. One way to discover and elicit the underlying ability is through humor and cajoling, which is the purpose of this freeform book.

This is a book about recreational experimentations with making homemade food products. The author narrates how he got into the exciting act of making Stockfish, which is air dried cod fish. The title of this book follows the topical titles of some previous book titles in the ABICS Publications series. Notably, Physics of Soccer, Physics in the Nigerian Kitchen, and Physics of Skateboarding. The memory of the Rev. Denis Joseph Slattery is celebrated in this third book chronicling the history and achievements of Saint Finbarrs College, Akoka, Yaba, Lagos, Nigeria. Written by an alumnus of the college, the series examines the continuing efforts of Saint Finbarrs College Old Boys Association to enliven the story of the institution and includes stories from numerous alumni who recall Father Slattery with fondness. The Rev. Slattery, an Irish priest, member of the Society of African Missions (a Roman Catholic missionary organization), and founder of the college, touched the lives of many students who have gone on to make significant personal and professional contributions to the world. In addition to educating students, the Rev. Slattery and his college made a huge difference in promoting the value of sportsmanship, discipline, and timeless values. While the Rev.
