Excerpt from Order of Exercises at the Dedication of the Spear Library, Oberlin, Ohio: Monday, Nov. 2, 1885 The building stands in a conspicuous place in the College Park, near North Main Street, facing south, and in style and ornamentation differs from all other previously erected college buildings. The main library and read ing-room, in which the exercises were held, is well lighted, airy, and taste fully decorated, and had just received its chief adornment.
