One afternoon in the spring of 1972, a Mack truck sped through a residential intersection and collided with a station wagon carrying a young girl and her friend on a ride home from school. The accident shattered the girls’ realities. A blanket of silence fell over them until they reconnected at their twentieth high school reunion. That conversation set the young girl on a twenty-year journey—reflected in seven springs—that reunited her to her past, her self, and what she now understands as faith.

A Century of Stewardship A hidden gem nestled in western New York State, Seven Springs Country Club is home to serene woods and a five-acre spring fed lake. This history is the story of how Seven Springs came into existence from the time of the Native American people to those who call it home today. It was written to honor and preserve the history of this special place. The property was at one time nothing more than swampy pasture land. In 1911 a group of local men saw its potential and formed an organization dedicated to stewardship and conservation. These members planted thousands of trees, enhanced trails and built a dam. Soon cottages were built and Seven Springs became both an important example of land stewardship and home for a unique mix of people who share a love and appreciation for the outdoors. The natural springs form a beautiful clear cold lake that is home to fish and many species of birds. The springs feed several other bodies of water throughout Genesee County making it an important part of the area.
