This newsletter summarizes the major changes in the yet to be released Ring of Fire Proposed Resource Management Plan/Final EIS that resulted from public involvement.

This resource management plan and environmental impact statement was written by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management to provide direction for managing its lands within the Ring of Fire planning area. That planning area lies in southern Alaska and covers the Aleutian Islands, the Alaska Peninsula, the Kodiak Archipelago, the southcentral region of Alaska, and Southeast Alaska. In this area BLM administers approximately 1.3 million acres.
