DOD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms March 2017 The DOD Dictionary of Military and Associated Terms (DOD Dictionary) sets forth standard US military and associated terminology to encompass the joint activity of the Armed Forces of the United States. These military and associated terms, together with their definitions, constitute approved Department of Defense (DOD) terminology for general use by all DOD components.

Designed as a handbook for those engaged in the use and analysis ofpetroleum and natural gas reserves data. A discussion of the mechanics ofreserves estimation and the techniques and definitions underlying the assessment of hydrocarbon reserves is included. The study focuses onAlberta's hydrocarbon reserves estimates generated by the Alberta EnergyResources Conservation Board and the Canadian Petroleum Association sincethe beginning of hydrocarbon exploration in the province. Historical differences between the two estimate series are identified and discussed, with explanations for the differences provided where possible, although noattempt is made to assess the relative accuracy or quality of the series.

The United Nations Framework Classification for Fossil Energy and Mineral Reserves and Resources 2009 (UNFC-2009) is a universally applicable scheme for classifying/evaluating energy and mineral reserves and resources - it is the successor to UNFC-2004. Designed as an all-encompassing framework, it enables the incorporation and unification of existing national systems, while allowing their classification units and glossary to be retained. The principal objective of UNFC-2009 is to enhance international communication by providing a simple, user-friendly and uniform format for the reporting of energy reserves and resources, using market-based economic criteria. It has been developed to meet, to the extent possible, the needs of applications pertaining to international energy and mineral studies, government resource management functions, corporate business processes and financial reporting standards
