Schon 1848 erkannte man allgemein das Willkürliche der strafgesetzlichen Zersplitterung in Deutschland. In die norddeutsche Bundesverfassung ging dieser nationale Wunsch als Verfassungsartikel über. Auf der äußerlichen Grundlage des preußischen Strafgesetzbuchs von 1851 ruhend, entstand als dann das ehemalige norddeutsche Strafgesetzbuch vom 31. Mai 1870, das demnächst nach Begründung des Kaisertums in veränderter Redaktion als deutsches Reichsstrafgesetzbuch vom 15. Mai 1871 noch einmal publiziert ist, seit 1. Jan. 1872 in ganz Deutschland gilt und auch im Reichsland eingeführt wurde.

George Fletcher is working on a new edition, which will be published by Oxford in three volumes, the first of which is scheduled to appear in January of 2001. Rethinking Criminal Law is still perhaps the most influential and often cited theoretical work on American criminal law. This reprint will keep this classic work available until the new edition can be published.

Discrimination against the LGBT+ community persists across Europe. Education is not immune to this: Young people across the continent continue to experience homophobic and transphobic behaviour in schools. This publication provides education practitioners and policy makers with historical perspectives, trends in educational practice, and reflections on desiderata for the future. This publication was developed as part of the All Inc! project, an ERASMUS+ KA2 partnership (2020-2023) funded by the European Commission and implemented by 16 educational institutions in Belgium, Germany, Greece, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, the United Kingdom, and Spain. The project's core aim is to encourage awareness, understanding, and inclusion of the LGBT+ community within and beyond the school gates as well as to reflect on what is needed in the future for an educational approach that is fit for purpose in contemporary society.

The protection of privacy and personality is one of the most fascinating issues confronting any legal system. This book provides a detailed comparative analysis of the laws relating to commercial exploitation of personality in France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the United States. It examines the difficulties in reconciling privacy and personality with intellectual property rights in an individual's identity and in balancing such rights with the competing interests of freedom of expression and freedom of competition. This analysis will be useful for lawyers in legal systems which have yet to develop a sophisticated level of protection for interests in personality. Equally, lawyers in systems which provide a higher level of protection will benefit from the comparative insights into determining the nature and scope of intellectual property rights in personality, particularly questions relating to assignment, licensing, and post-mortem protection.

This book presents the results of an international comparative study on the causes of rule deviation in business and medical organizations. Based on document and interview analyses as well as experiments, the discrepancy between (state) regulations and organizational practice is elaborated and discussed in an interdisciplinary perspective. On the basis of the distinction between organizational and individual deviance, it could be shown across national boundaries that the unwritten rules of the organization make a decisive contribution in explaining organizational wrongdoing, as well as their containment. Implications for effective prevention derived from this are also pointed out.

The history of criminal justice in modern Germany has become a vibrant field of research, as demonstrated in this volume.
