This volume of Proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium is graced with two J. V. Kelleher lectures: the 2019 lecture by Máire Ní Mhaonaigh on Irish chronicles and the 2021 presentation by Ruairí Ó hUiginn assessing the Irish genealogical corpus in its sociological context. It also includes Georgia Henley's 2021 keynote on the differing literary receptions in Norman Ireland and Wales of Geoffrey of Monmouth's history of Britain and related prophecies. Other articles in Volume 40 survey a wide array of topics in Celtic Studies, centering on Irish and Welsh material with the smaller language areas appearing as well, and ranging from medieval to modern times. While most are literary or linguistic in their focus, some historical context is also provided.

The proceeding is a collection of research papers presented at the International Colloquium on Sports Science, Exercise, Engineering and Technology (ICoSSEET2014), a conference dedicated to address the challenges in the areas of sports science, exercise, sports engineering and technology including other areas of sports, thereby presenting a consolidated view to the interested researchers in the aforesaid fields. Proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium, 39 includes the 2019 J. V. Kelleher lecture by Máire Ní Mhaonaigh which centered on medieval Irish chroniclers' conceptions of past and present events in the wider world. Other papers expand the scope of this volume from the medieval into the early modern period, and into the early twentieth century.

This volume contains the articles contributed to the Conference on Categorical Algebra, held June 7-12,1965, at the San Diego campus of the University of California under the sponsorship of the United States Air Force Office of Scientific Research. Of the thirty-seven mathemati cians, who were present seventeen presented their papers in the form of lectures. In addition, this volume contains papers contributed by other attending participants as well as by those who, after having planned to attend, were unable to do so. The editors hope to have achieved a representative, if incomplete, cover age of the present activities in Categorical Algebra within the United States by bringing together this group of mathematicians and by solici ting the articles contained in this volume. They also hope that these Proceedings indicate the trend of research in Categorical Algebra in this country. In conclusion, the editors wish to thank the participants and contrib. utors to these Proceedings for their continuous cooperation and encour agement. Our thanks are also due to the Springer-Verlag for publishing these Proceedings in a surprisingly short time after receiving the manu scripts.

This volume contains papers and commentaries presented to the Boston Area Colloquium in Ancient Philosophy during the academic year 2007-8. The papers discuss a wide range of topics related to Plato and Aristotle. On Plato, topics include false pleasures in the "Philebus," the tripartite soul in the "Republic," and rhetoric in the "Phaedrus," and on Aristotle, the relation of the physical and psychological in "De Anima," of virtue and happiness in the "Ethics," of body and nature in the "Physics," and the role of pros hen in the "Metaphysics." One other paper argues for the Aristotelian origin of Stoic determinism.
