Formal Methods in Computer-Aided Design (FMCAD) is a conference series on the theory and applications of formal methods in hardware and system verification. FMCAD provides a leading forum to researchers in academia and industry for presenting and discussing ground-breaking methods, technologies, theoretical results, and tools for reasoning formally about computing systems. FMCAD covers formal aspects of computer-aided system design including verification, specification, synthesis, and testing.

Die Proceedings zur Konferenz „Formal Methods in Computer-Aided Design 2024“ geben aktuelle Einblicke in ein spannendes Forschungsfeld. Zum fünften Mal erscheinen die Beiträge der Konferenzreihe „Formal Methods in Computer-Aided Design“ (FMCAD) als Konferenzband bei TU Wien Academic Press. Der aktuelle Band der seit 2006 jährlich veranstalteten Konferenzreihe präsentiert in 35 Beiträgen neueste wissenschaftliche Erkenntnisse aus dem Bereich des computergestützten Entwerfens. Die Beiträge behandeln formale Aspekte des computergestützten Systemdesigns einschließlich Verifikation, Spezifikation, Synthese und Test. Die FMCAD-Konferenz findet im Oktober 2024 in Prag, Tschechische Republik, statt. Sie gilt als führendes Forum im Bereich des computer-aided design und bietet seit ihrer Gründung Forschenden sowohl aus dem akademischen als auch dem industriellen Umfeld die Möglichkeit, sich auszutauschen und zu vernetzen.

The open access proceedings set LNCS 13964, 13965, 13966 constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 35th International Conference on Computer Aided Verification, CAV 2023, which was held in Paris, France, in July 2023. The 67 full papers presented in these proceedings were carefully reviewed and selected from 261 submissions. The have been organized in topical sections as follows: Part I: Automata and logic; concurrency; cyber-physical and hybrid systems; synthesis; Part II: Decision procedures; model checking; neural networks and machine learning; Part II: Probabilistic systems; security and quantum systems; software verification.

In 2002, the International Conference on Computer Aided Design (ICCAD) celebrates its 20th anniversary. This book commemorates contributions made by ICCAD to the broad field of design automation during that time. The foundation of ICCAD in 1982 coincided with the growth of Large Scale Integration. The sharply increased functionality of board-level circuits led to a major demand for more powerful Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools. At the same time, LSI grew quickly and advanced circuit integration became widely avail able. This, in turn, required new tools, using sophisticated modeling, analysis and optimization algorithms in order to manage the evermore complex design processes. Not surprisingly, during the same period, a number of start-up com panies began to commercialize EDA solutions, complementing various existing in-house efforts. The overall increased interest in Design Automation (DA) re quired a new forum for the emerging community of EDA professionals; one which would be focused on the publication of high-quality research results and provide a structure for the exchange of ideas on a broad scale. Many of the original ICCAD volunteers were also members of CANDE (Computer-Aided Network Design), a workshop of the IEEE Circuits and Sys tem Society. In fact, it was at a CANDE workshop that Bill McCalla suggested the creation of a conference for the EDA professional. (Bill later developed the name).

In recent years there has been many developments in communication technology. This has greatly enhanced the computing power of small handheld resource-constrained mobile devices. Different generations of communication technology have evolved. This had led to new research for communication of large volumes of data in different transmission media and the design of different communication protocols. Another direction of research concerns the secure and error-free communication between the sender and receiver despite the risk of the presence of an eavesdropper. For the communication requirement of a huge amount of multimedia streaming data, a lot of research has been carried out in the design of proper overlay networks.
