Craig Lewis Lewis has returned from WWII in 1945. He and his wife, Claire settle near Atlanta, Georgia. They already have a daughter, Karen Ann, born in 1942, while he was in training as a medic. Craig was deployed to North Africa, then to Sicily and fi nally to Italy. They soon have another daughter, Susie, born in May, 1947. Claire becomes terminally ill. How Craig handles her illness, eventual death, and their children, is a story repeated all too often even today. If only he would have looked to Providence for his help instead of a bottle, his life and that of his daughters’, would have turned out differently. It is the lack of inner strength drawn from a loving family, or from God, that throws his and his childrens’ lives into turmoil and violence. His youngest daughter, Susie is catapulted into a life of alter personalities unknown to her until she totally collapses. The dark cloud that has followed her all her life, finally consumes her and wreaks total havoc and insanity in her life and that of her family. Her path through depression and quagmire of multiple personalities is long, disruptive, and harrowing.

Precious Memories of Missionaries of Color, Vol. 2 profiles ninety-five black Seventh-day Adventist missionaries from 1892 to 2014 and is a follow up to Carol Hammond's book Precious Memories of Missionaries of Color, which was published in 2008 and featured the profiles of forty-nine families. Author DeWitt S. Williams desired to feature the stories of those not included in the first book, so he compiled a list of all those who had served as missionaries through the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, researched their stories, and wrote about their triumphs, struggles, and everyday experiences in this volume.

Documenting the phenomenon that spans continents and generations, a volume featuring hundreds of illustrations of the collection, its creators, and collectors highlights the history of Precious Moments and reveals how collectors unite in a spirit of loving, caring, and sharing.

The assurances received of the beneficial effects of the earlier volumes of the Faith-Promoting Series encourage the hope and belief that the present volume may be none the less helpful and appreciated. Narratives of personal experience, especially when they relate to people familiar to the reader or the community in which he lives possess a peculiar charm to most people, and especially to the young, and may convey helpful lessons more effectually than homilies or treatises, however carefully written, are apt to. The reason therefor probably is that in the narrative the moral is applied in real experience whereas in the treatise or homily the moral is expressed in the abstract only, and doubt may exist in the mind of the reader as to just how to apply it in real life. The hope is entertained that not only may the narratives contained in this volume entertain and at the same time tend to promote faith in those who read them, but that they may also incite others in the community whose lives have been fraught with incidents that would be faith-promoting if published to have the same reduced to writing and supply us therewith for use in the Faith-Promoting Series, or else furnish us with the facts and allow us to prepare the same for publication.

A Dream So Big is the story of Steve Peifer, a corporate manager who once oversaw 9,000 computer software consultants, who today helps provide daily lunches for over 20,000 Kenyan school children in thirty-five national public schools, and maintains solar-powered computer labs at twenty rural African schools.
