The time we live on planet Earth is short, and the opportunity to advance God’s kingdom with love is now and until we are promoted to glory. This is not the time to play defense. It is the time to go on offense with the Gospel. The Gospel is the Good News that Jesus Christ defeated Satan, overcame the world, died for our sins, and conquered death.

The Buddhist philosophical tradition is vast, internally diverse, and comprises texts written in a variety of canonical languages. It is hence often difficult for those with training in Western philosophy who wish to approach this tradition for the first time to know where to start, and difficult for those who wish to introduce and teach courses in Buddhist philosophy to find suitable textbooks that adequately represent the diversity of the tradition, expose students to important primary texts in reliable translations, that contextualize those texts, and that foreground specifically philosophical issues. Buddhist Philosophy fills that lacuna. It collects important philosophical texts from each major Buddhist tradition. Each text is translated and introduced by a recognized authority in Buddhist studies. Each introduction sets the text in context and introduces the philosophical issues it addresses and arguments it presents, providing a useful and authoritative guide to reading and to teaching the text. The volume is organized into topical sections that reflect the way that Western philosophers think about the structure of the discipline, and each section is introduced by an essay explaining Buddhist approaches to that subject matter, and the place of the texts collected in that section in the enterprise. This volume is an ideal single text for an intermediate or advanced course in Buddhist philosophy, and makes this tradition immediately accessible to the philosopher or student versed in Western philosophy coming to Buddhism for the first time. It is also ideal for the scholar or student of Buddhist studies who is interested specifically in the philosophical dimensions of the Buddhist tradition.

In Giving Offense, South African writer J. M. Coetzee presents a coherent, unorthodox analysis of censorship from the perspective of a writer who has lived and worked under its shadow. Widely acclaimed for his many novels, Coetzee is also a brilliant literary critic and essayist. The essays collected here attempt to understand the passion that plays itself out in acts of silencing and censoring. Subscribing neither to the myth of the writer as a moral giant nor to that of the writer as persecuted innocent, Coetzee argues that a destructive dynamic of belligerence and escalation tends to overtake the rivals in any field ruled by censorship. From Osip Mandelstam commanded to compose an ode in praise of Stalin, to Breyten Breytenbach writing poems under and for the eyes of his prison guards, to Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn engaging in a trial of wits with the organs of the Soviet state, Giving Offense focuses on the ways authors have historically responded to censorship. It also analyzes the arguments of Catharine MacKinnon for the suppression of pornography and traces the operations of the old South African censorship system. Finally, Coetzee delves into the early history of apartheid and critizes the blankness of contemporary political science in its efforts to address the deeper motives behind apartheid.

Have you had your feelings hurt? Or maybe, you have hurt someone's feelings. This should come as no surprise as God's Word tells us in Luke 17:1 that "It is impossible that no offenses should come." In this bold biblical-based Bible study, the truth that God's people are ripping each other apart by their words and actions will be clear. But don't stop there: the encouraging word is that we do not have to stay this way. Whether we are doing the offending or we are the offended, we are walking away with hurts no Band-Aid can fix. Dena's heart's desire is that through the power of God's Word and the healing only Jesus can bring, we will not only be healed but learn how to do things differently. Her hope is that we will learn not to take things personally and yet keep our sensitivity. God thinks very highly of His children. She wants you to know how valued you are in the Kingdom. We have a role in God's plan. But we are too busy licking our wounds and out of hurt, inflicting hurt on each other. We have to get our focus back on our purpose. God created us in His image (Gen. 1:27), which is love. However, somewhere in our journey we have begun to devour like the enemy (1 Pet. 5:8). Through this twelve-week study, you will reconnect with the Savior and begin to allow the brick wall to come down that over time has grown to protect your heart. God will show you that the wall of protecting only imprisons. Allow yourself to be free!

During and following the 2004 Hurricane Season, some of our members felt led to assemble a collection of poetry, which lifted praises up to our Lord for the mercy He showed to us. It was therapeutic for us and helped rid ourselves of frustrations and anxieties that had kept us in bondage during and after these storms. Many in our area sustained major damage to their businesses and homes. Some of our members were among them. We have assembled these poems into this anthology to the Glory of God our Heavenly Father, His Son our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit our Comforter! FBC Melbourne became a shelter for displaced persons, recovery workers and a staging area for disaster relief work in Florida supported by the Salvation Army, the Red Cross and Southern Baptist Relief Organizations for several months in 2004. All the proceeds received from the sale of this Anthology will be used to support the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Operations our Church is committed to carrying out wherever and whenever we are called upon. During the 2005 Hurricane Season, we provided several teams for recovery assistance in Hattiesburg and Biloxi, Mississippi and Lake Charles, Louisiana.
