Book 1 covers the years 1819 to 1834 (in part). Book 2 covers the years 1834 (in part) to 1844. Marriages are listed alphabetically by surname of groom. An index to the brides follows the marriages records. No attempt to correct spelling has been made by the compiler. All possible variations of spelling should be checked when searching a surname for the record of marriage. Owen County, Indiana was formed March 4, 1819. The County Seat is Spencer.
