Excerpt from Outlines in Ancient, Mediæval, and Modern History These Outlines are prepared for the use of classes pursuing the study of history by the topical method. They are adapted to any text or reference books to which the pupils may have access. In the lists of events those are in the coarser type to which the most time should be given, and for which the pupils should be held responsible in recitation. On pages 22, 36, and 72 lists oi subjects are given for topical recitations or essays. Assign these to pupils for especial preparation sometime previous to the recitation on the respective subjects.
