In this friends-to-lovers Regency romance by USA Today bestselling and HOLT Medallion winning author BREE WOLF, childhood friends Anne and Tobias, once known as Little Annie and Little Toby, are forced down a rocky path when they realize that friendship alone is no longer enough. Will they dare reach for more? She is his oldest friend, and he is hers. Until a mistletoe kiss... ...goes horribly wrong. England 1801: MISS ANNE THATCHER ought to choose a husband. That, however, is easier said than done for no man of her acquaintance manages to capture her attention, her interest, her heart. The only man she has ever loved is Tobias Hawke, her childhood friend who has always been like an older brother to her, troublesome but loyal. Anne cannot think of him without remembering how he used to hide frogs in her bed when they were children. He is her friend, not a suitor, and yet, lately, whenever she finds herself looking into those chocolate-brown eyes of his, Anne cannot help but wonder... ...what if he kissed her? TOBIAS HAWKE, brother to Viscount Barrington, no longer sees the little girl he once knew when he looks at his childhood friend Anne Thatcher. To him, she's no longer Little Annie, and the thought that she might still think of him as Little Toby disturbs him greatly. Yes, she is his confidante, his friend, the one woman who knows him like no other, but... ...what if he kissed her? Neither one of them dares to risk the friendship that connected them since childhood...until Christmas arrives, and they find themselves pushed under a sprig of mistletoe. What if? Bradley Jackson is a respectable duke in search of a wife - but could free-spirited and unconventional Lady Harriet be the woman he's been looking for? A swoon-worthy historical romance by USA Today bestselling author Bree Wolf! England 1803: LADY HARRIET BEAUMONT, daughter to the Earl of Whickerton, is a free spirit, always has been. She does as she pleases, determined to ignore society's etiquette and demands, determined to remain unwed. Her heart tends to go out to those who have been mistreated, and over the course of a most eventful and somewhat scandalous life, Harriet - or "Harry"! - has nursed countless animals back to health. A rabbit by the name of Sir Lancelot. A talking parrot called King Arthur... or Biscuit as he insists. A toad dubbed Prince Charming. Most recently, however, a rather unusual creature crossed her path. He walks on two legs and speaks in complete sentences. His name? The Duke of Clements. Or as Harriet renamed him, Sweet Jack. BRADLEY JACKSON, the DUKE OF CLEMENTS, lives a life of order and predictability... at least until he stumbles across a most unusual woman out in the woods. How she comes to be there - unaccompanied, mind you! - he does not know nor care; all he knows is that he needs to rid himself of her as fast as possible. After all, with one glance, Bradley can tell that this woman spells trouble. Unfortunately, Lady Harriet is not so easily set aside, her insistence on seeking him out more than simply puzzling to Bradley. Instead of assisting his aunt in choosing his future duchess, Bradley suddenly finds his days occupied by a most troublesome hellion. No matter what he does, the lady simply will not stay away... and before long, Bradley is shocked to realize that he no longer wishes she would. Could she possibly be the one? The woman meant to be his duchess? As shocking as that thought is, the more disturbing one is that Lady Harriet has sworn never to marry. What is a duke to do when he finds his heart stolen by the one woman in all of England who will not have him?

A rousing epic tale of adventure and romance in Quebec in the 1750's, about ladies and gentlemen, about Indians and woodsmen, pre-Revolutionary days in old Quebec and Fort William Henry, and the French & Indian War. The book begins with a 3-page list of the characters and brief sketches for each. James Oliver Curwood lived most of his life in Owosso, Michigan, where he was born on June 12, 1878. His first novel was The Courage of Captain Plum (1908) and he published one or two novels each year thereafter, until his death on August 13, 1927. Owosso residents honor his name to this day, and Curwood Castle (built in 1922) is the town's main tourist attraction. During the 1920s Curwood became one of America's best selling and most highly paid authors. This was the decade of his lasting classics The Valley of Silent Men (1920) and The Flaming Forest (1921). He and his wife Ethel were outdoors fanatics and active conservationists.
