The Nārada-bhakti-sūtra, compiled by Sage Nārada, is a foundational text in the path of bhakti and Vaishnavism. As one of the Lord’s greatest devotees, Sage Narada stands as a role model and an expert guide to all aspiring devotees. In these bhakti sūtras, he has extracted the essence of devotion and presented it concisely in only 84 verses. Each sūtra is infused with the insight of one who truly lives bhakti to its fullest. And so these revelations are shared by Sage Narad, who imparts these secrets, which purify one's heart to receive the sweetest melody of the most blessed of loves. His clear instructions prepare the aspiring lover as an offering into the arms of that adorable Cowherd Boy of Vrindavan, Krishn, the One who stole countless hearts and minds with just a glance from His lotus eye or by the mere touch of His beautiful lips to a flute. Those who are desirous of Krishn's love can realise and relish Him through the bond of sacred love. The Narad Bhakti Sutra is the hymn of this sacred love, a song which concludes in a blissful union of the lover and her Beloved.

The Narada Bhakti Sutras are 84 aphorisms (short doctrines) on the love of God (bhakti) attributed to Narada, a sage from Hindu mythology, and considered a classic of bhakti literature. Swami Vivekananda wrote a free translation of these sutras and gave a lecture on them to a small group of students on the "Thousand Islands" in the St. Lawrence River in New York State. His disciple Edward Sturdy also translated the sutras with the help of Vivekananda and wrote a commentary on them that clearly bears his signature. The Narada Bhakti Sutras describe the still current way to love God, which exists in all religions.

The Narada Bhakti Sutra (IAST: Nārada Bhakti Sūtra) is a well known sutra venerated within the traditions of Hinduism, purportedly spoken by the famous sage, Narada. The text details the process of devotion (Bhakti), or Bhakti yoga and is thus of particular importance to many of the Bhakti movements within Hinduism. It has received particular attention among the Vaishnava traditions. Sanskrit scriptures often appear in variant editions which may show differences in organization and verse numbering. For example in the translation by Swami Prabhavananda there are eighty-four verses arranged in nine chapters,[1] whereas in the Bhaktivedanta Book Trust translation by A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and his disciple Satsvarupa dasa the eighty-four verses are organised into five chapters
