Author's account of his life in Australian theatre, published to coincide with the 40th year of his involvement in theatre. He developed the Nimrod Theatre Company as co-artistic director in the 1970s, was director of the Sydney Theatre Company for 11 years, and since then has been a freelance director. Includes author's accounts of working with actors such as John Bell, Gordon Chater, Ruth Cracknell, John Hargreaves, Robin Nevin and Jacki Weaver, and playwrights including David Williamson and Steve J Spears.
