Anton and Nina met in fairytale fashion while each was preparing for a highly regarded international competition in Moscow. They fell in love at first sight, engaged in an impulsive romance and were married in a matter of just a few months. After their graduation from the Moscow Conservatory, they soon discovered that the road to success is slow and has many perplexing hurdles. What becomes of Anton, a talented young pianist, when the bright artistic future that has been promised to him since childhood, fails to materialize? What surprises does life have in store for Nina who is a beautiful and talented young singer and an aspiring classical vocalist? Two years of drudgery, playing in small Russian cities for a modest salary and living close to the poverty line, convinces Anton that enough is enough. He decides to emigrate to Canada, where he is confident that the life of a musician would be much easier and vastly more rewarding. He eventually persuades his reluctant wife to abandon her own vocal career in Moscow and to emigrate with him. The new Canadian immigrants soon learn that the roads are not paved with gold in their adopted country either. Will they finally achieve artistic success in Canada or might they be forced to return to Russia? Will the couple's marriage endure? Music of the Wandering Stars is a tale of discovery, romance, and destiny. It reminds us all of the inner battle we all face with love and what it does to us.

"It is a serious thing to claim to speak for God. So serious, in fact, that a prophet who claimed to speak for God and whose words did not come to pass was to be put to death according to the Old Testament. God takes both His Name and His word so seriously that He gave some of the harshest rebukes in all the Old Testament to those who were claiming to bring revelation from Him that He had not sent. One final note. There is always the temptation when dealing with a subject of this nature, to pull out the most outlandish quotes in an attempt to make one's point more forcefully. Though it is certain that some will feel that this is exactly what has been done, I have attempted to resist this temptation. While an extreme example has occasionally been used in order to demonstrate how heretical the movement is at its fringes, for the most part, I have attempted to use quotes from those considered more 'mainstream' within the apostolic and prophetic movement. It is my desire to demonstrate that the issues addressed in this book are rampant within the community and not isolated in one or two marginal teachers. It is my sincere prayer that this book will be used in some small measure to awaken the church to the seriousness of the errors being propagated within the apostolic/prophetic movement and to call the church back to the truth." - Keith Gibson

“An uproarious, sprawling masterpiece by a grand Yiddish storyteller.” —O, The Oprah Magazine Translated in full for the first time, one hundred years after its original publication, the acclaimed epic love story set in the colorful world of the Yiddish theater. Wandering Stars spans ten years and two continents, relating the adventures of Reizel and Leibel, young shtetl dwellers in late nineteenth-century Russia who fall under the spell of a traveling acting company. Together they run away from home to become entertainers themselves, and then tour separately around Europe, ultimately reuniting in New York. Wandering Stars is an engrossing romance, a great New York story, and an anthem for the magic of the theater.

"Wandering Star is a beautiful story, written years before its time. Space epics were not in vogue when Teri Wood wrote and drew this story. She didn't do it for fame, or money, she did it for love. And, she crafted her story without the influence of today's trendy tropes. That's the perfect combination for timeless fiction. Since its completion, Wandering Star has sat squarely in the company of the most beloved works of fiction, waiting for its time. Thanks to this omnibus, the time is now." — Terry Moore "Simply one of the best sci-fi comics ever written." — Overstreet's Fan Magazine This much-praised space drama follows the far-flung adventures of Casandra, daughter of the President of the United Nations of Earth and the first terran accepted into the Galactic Academy. Casandra discovers to her woe that Earth isn't the most popular of planets and joins the outcasts working on Wandering Star, the Galactic Alliance's prototypical spaceship. When the Bono Kiro, the Alliance's longtime enemy, makes a sudden reappearance, Casandra and her misfit crew just might turn out to be the galaxy's last hope. Sure to delight the legions of fans of the series, this beautiful hardcover edition collects all 21 of the original comics for the first time. "[Wood's] science-fiction series shows her clear vision of story and character — and excellent ability to delineate both." — Comics Buyers Guide "Good science fiction turns on a compelling 'what if'. In this case, it's 'What if the Earth wasn't the center of the civilized universe?'" — Comics Worth Reading "No one should be allowed to write a first book this good. A cross between Anne McCaffrey and Jim Starlin; humanistic yet still plot-oriented." — Cold Cut Distribution "Potent, powerful, uplifting, and painfully realistic, this is a war story that deals with consequences rather than as simple victories and defeats." —Now Read This

A memoir by Morris Day of The Time centering around his lifelong relationship and association with Prince"A vital, illuminating, and wildly entertaining autobiography." -Billboard "Great book! Great storytelling!" -LENNY KRAVITZ "Lean, slick, cooler than Santa Claus, and surprisingly tender, this book not only traces Day's history in Minneapolis funk, but doubles as an intimate recollection of his time with Prince." -BEN GREENMAN, author of Dig If You Will The Picture Brilliant composer, smooth soul singer, killer drummer, and charismatic band leader, Morris Day has been a force in American music for the past four decades. In On Time, the renowned funkster looks back on a life of turbulence and triumph, chronicling his creative process with an explosive prose that mirrors his intoxicating music. A major theme throughout the book is Morris's enduring friendship and musical partnership with Prince, from their early days on the Minneapolis scene to selling out stadiums and duking it out as rivals in Purple Rain. Eventually, Morris went on to release four albums with a new band of his very own, The Time; however, before long, increasing tensions between the two performers set them down separate paths. Through the years, the fierce brotherly love between Morris and Prince kept bringing them back together-until pride, ego, and circumstance interfered. Two months before Prince's untimely death, the two finally started to make amends. But Morris never could have imagined it would be the last time he'd ever see his friend again.
