Over the past 40 years, Lois Greenfield has earned a reputation as one of the world's most accomplished and respected photographers of human motion. Her images of dancers in mid-flight or mid-movement are astonishingly beautiful and capture the magic of dance in a unique way. In the 17 years since her last book was published, Greenfield has moved into digital colour photography, and some 150 of these breathtaking images are reproduced in Moving Still. They reflect her collaboration with leading contemporary dancers, many of whom perform with international touring companies. The book reunites Greenfield with the distinguished writer and curator William A. Ewing, her enduring champion across the decades and author of her two previous monographs, who provides an illuminating introduction as well as an interview with the photographer about her recent work. The extended captions by Greenfield provide fascinating insights into the creative process. Divided into four picture sections, the free-flowing, rhythmic design of the book does justice to the majestic beauty of Greenfield's photographs.

STILL MOVING Still Moving: How to Lead Mindful Change sets out an innovative approach for guiding organisations and indeed entire systems through ongoing, disruptive change. It combines Deborah Rowland’s own rigorous research into change and its leadership with insights from her extensive field experience helping major global corporations including GlaxoSmithKline, RWE and Shell achieve lasting change with increased productivity, employee engagement and responsible societal impact. It is filled with helpful inspiring stories of leadership and change from the real world and, bravely, the author’s own personal journey. Challenging leaders to cultivate both their inner and outer skills necessary for success, Still Moving weaves together the ‘being’ and ‘doing’ states of leading change and emphasises the importance of a mindful stance and deep systemic perception within a leader. With the goal of collaborative, sustainable change, the book delves into a variety of important topics, including present-moment awareness, intentional response, edge and tension and emergent change. Compelling and provocative, Still Moving questions the conventional wisdom of much change theory and asks that leaders first work on their inner source in order to more effortlessly change the world around them.

In Still Moving noted artists, filmmakers, art historians, and film scholars explore the boundary between cinema and photography. The interconnectedness of the two media has emerged as a critical concern for scholars in the field of cinema studies responding to new media technologies, and for those in the field of art history confronting the ubiquity of film, video, and the projected image in contemporary art practice. Engaging still, moving, and ambiguous images from a wide range of geographical spaces and historical moments, the contributors to this volume address issues of indexicality, medium specificity, and hybridity as they examine how cinema and photography have developed and defined themselves through and against one another. Foregrounding the productive tension between stasis and motion, two terms inherent to cinema and to photography, the contributors trace the shifting contours of the encounter between still and moving images across the realms of narrative and avant-garde film, photography, and installation art. Still Moving suggests that art historians and film scholars must rethink their disciplinary objects and boundaries, and that the question of medium specificity is a necessarily interdisciplinary question. From a variety of perspectives, the contributors take up that challenge, offering new ways to think about what contemporary visual practice is and what it will become. Perception is movement at the most refined level. In order to perceive things in new ways, one must learn to move in new ways. This book will take you on a journey into the movementsof nature, which are always in flux. Passive perception can offer no insight here. One can onlyperceive movement with movement. The photos in this book are not static or still. In fact, if you slow down enough, you will noticethat they are fluid, that they are still moving. Resist the temptation to quickly guess what thesubject of the photo may be. Enjoy its beauty, but let this too wane. Now, soften your gazeand live into the photo until it seems to breathe. You will begin to see that each form hascome about from sculpting movements that created the form, that they are still around theform, and that they are "still moving."The verses in this book are playful too. When you think you have understood a verse, stop. Each verse can be re-versed. Turn each phrase around, up-side down, and inside out, and youwill discover that the verses echo the movements in the photos. Your playful interaction withthe images and the imaginations will help you to develop a new art of perception. You willwitness the play and interplay in nature as the finite reveals itself as an expression of theinfinite. There is nothing fixed or finished...everything springs to life. Everything is indeed:"Still Moving."
