Winner of the Pulitzer Prize in Fiction Winner of the William Dean Howells Medal Shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize Over One Year on the New York Times Bestseller List A New York Times Notable Book and a Washington Post, Time, Oprah Magazine, Newsweek, Chicago Tribune, and Kirkus Reviews Best Book of the Year "The best novel ever written about trees, and really just one of the best novels, period." —Ann Patchett The Overstory, winner of the 2019 Pulitzer Prize in Fiction, is a sweeping, impassioned work of activism and resistance that is also a stunning evocation of—and paean to—the natural world. From the roots to the crown and back to the seeds, Richard Powers’s twelfth novel unfolds in concentric rings of interlocking fables that range from antebellum New York to the late twentieth-century Timber Wars of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. There is a world alongside ours—vast, slow, interconnected, resourceful, magnificently inventive, and almost invisible to us. This is the story of a handful of people who learn how to see that world and who are drawn up into its unfolding catastrophe.

Is it actually possible? …that we might emerge from this pandemic with a peaceful global power switch from those who have too much to those who don't have enough? With billionaires able to decide the fate of nations, private corporations more powerful and less accountable than ever, and political autocrats around the world shaking our confidence in democratic institutions, power resides in all the wrong places. And so our world is in crisis. In such moments, activists find opportunities. Not to restore the pre-crises order, but to transform it. Paul O’Brien argues that progressive activists may never have a better opportunity to rewrite economic rules, systems and outcomes in favor of those who don't have enough. His book offers practical action steps for activists who want to drive a power switch that overcomes extreme inequalities in our world.

It was a typical fresh crisp Monday morning on February 5, 1998, after doing my routinely five-mile run, as I rushed into Starbucks, for my favorite cappuccino, topped with whip cream is a reward to myself, besides I just ran five miles, working off the calories before they are put on. Approaching the exit of Starbucks, glancing over to my right, from my peripheral view, noticing a black Bugatti emerging the store parking lot, watching his suicide doors opening, getting out is a tall, handsome, smooth chocolate, entrepreneur. Shockingly stuck in my path, eyeballing him as he enters the shop, swiftly walking by me, reeking the scent of My Burberry black cologne, as it dances into my nostril, straight to my sinus cavities, puts me in a trance, snapping back into reality with the ringing of my phone, noticing it was my girl, my A1 since day 1, Meme. Beginning to walk out the door, Excitedly, she screams, GIRLFRIEND! we got an invitation to a Ballers Valentine Day party in New York City, therefore we got some shopping to do! Ok, I agree, but girl its 6 o’clock in the am, it’s too early for you to be making plans for us to get into something. She says that’s why I’m telling you ahead of time, that’s why it’s called pre-plan hunni! Alright, bet we need a vacation anyway.

If you own a C64 and tinkered with it, you will definitely enjoy this book. I have collected a large collection of tips and tricks, hardware, useful software and many other interesting internet links for the Mini. Retro Games has answered my every question and covered every topic. As a result, a lot of official answers went into this book. The software solutions I present here will make it easier to use and extend the Mini with a variety of new games compared to the possibilities you have using the original menu. I mention some tools and tricks that make loading new games from an USB stick much easier and I will show you how you can use all your games from almost all Commodore file formats on the Mini. I found and interviewed dedicated users who took the Mini apart and analyzed the hardware. What gave birth from tinkering with the hardware is the information from which you now can benefit. For example, you can learn about the joystick and USB compatibilities, why delays can occur between a joystick action and the screen display and what you can do about it. Slightly more complex changes of the system are also possible e.g. you can change the music menu, which seems dull at first, but is technically somehow more difficult to implement than you might think. I do hope that you will find a lot of suggestions to revive or deepen your love for the C64 in this book and that you will have a lot of fun playing and experimenting with it.

No Greater Love Than God's Love New book by author Katherine Scriven is a dramatic tapestry of family, faith, love, and forgiveness Allenhurst, GA - (Release Date TBD) - Being nineteen and pregnant was not how Trina wanted to start her adult life. But that's just what happened. She married the baby's father, Anthony Stevens, a handsome, hotshot hustler whose idea of having it all is to do just that-have it all. It was the beginning of a tumultuous journey that would test her faith and prove that there is No Greater Love than God's love for His people. Trina gave birth to twin daughters, Miracle "Mimi" and Angel. Angel was sweet and humble like their mother while Mimi was tough and headstrong. Life with her husband Anthony was trying. He was away most of the time nights, his alibi being work. Little did Trina know that her husband was involved in shady business and was having an affair with another woman. What will happen when the truth comes out? Trina struggles to keep her family together as the twins are stained by their father's sins and their faith wavers. Through all of life's trials, she remains vigilant in her faith and prayers, wanting only to protect her family.
