This book contains the proceedings of the 3rd Multidisciplinary International Conference (MIC) 2023, an annual event hosted by Nusantara Training and Research (NTR). This event was held in collaboration with Nusantara Training and Research (NTR) with Borobudur University, Jakarta. It was held on a virtual conference on 28 October 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The theme of this year's conference was "Scientific Innovation in The Digital Age" which aimed to explore the latest technological advancements and their implications in various scientific fields, including social science, economics, education, law, engineering, religion, and other sciences. This conference was attended by participants and delegates from various universities from Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, the Philippines, Australia, and Japan. More than 100 participants from academics, practitioners, and bureaucrats took part in this event to exchange knowledge according to their research results and competencies.

This report assesses the current state of connectivity in Southeast Asia and provides tailored recommendations for extending broadband access, focusing on five countries: Cambodia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam.

What are the potential sources of conflict of interests in investment advisory services and how should the law design legal tools of retail investor protection? These are the questions addressed by this book, which explores the new legal challenges of investor protection in the context of digital investment platforms and genAI advisors. The author analyses the investor protection tools provided by competition law, regulatory and private law frameworks, taking Brazil as case study, where investment advisory experienced a unique market change and a major regulatory reform. This book addresses a worldwide audience and concludes with a set of policy recommendations.

Earth's orbits are polluted by more than 100 million debris objects that pose a collision threat to satellites and other spacecraft. The risk of perturbing highly valuable space-based services critical to life on Earth, such as weather monitoring and disaster management, is making debris mitigation an urgent policy challenge. This book provides the latest findings from the OECD project on the economics of space sustainability, which aims to improve decision makers’ understanding of the societal value of space infrastructure and costs of space debris. It provides comprehensive evidence on the growth of space debris, presents methods to evaluate and quantify the value of the satellites at risk and discusses ways to ensure a more sustainable use of the orbital environment. It notably includes case studies from Italy, Japan and Korea on the socio-economic value of different types of space infrastructure and discusses the feasibility and optimal design of fiscal measures and voluntary environmental rating schemes to change operator behaviour. This work is informed by contributions from researchers worldwide involved in the OECD project.

Strong Recovery and Challenges. Mauritius has rebounded strongly from the pandemic on the back of buoyant tourism, social housing construction, and financial services. Supportive policies facilitated the strong recovery, but challenges remain for securing a sustainable and resilient economy: (i) fiscal and external buffers were eroded during the pandemic, and (ii) vulnerabilities to climate change and an ageing population loom over the medium- to long-term economic prospects.
