An analysis is made of ~5000 pp interactions at 102 GeV/c and ~2500 pp interactions at 405 GeV/c from exposures of the NAL 30-inch hydrogen bubble chamber. Results are presented and discussed on the charged-particle multiplicity~ distribution, the diffractive component in pp collisions, and inclusive pion preduction and charged-particle ccorrelations. (Cont.) In the mid-rapidity region, the yield of charged particles evolves smoothly as a function of [the square root of] sNN and collision centrality. We compare our results with a compilation of data from lower energy p + p, p + A and A + A collisions and discuss their implications for various phenomenological models of particle production.
