Born on January 2, 2004, Anthony was full of life. As each day went by, his life became full of medical problems. Anthony had a rare mitochondrial disease called Pyruvate Carboxylase Deficiency. In this book I have shared my son's life, dealing with grief, and the power of love and hope. The writing of this book did not start out as a plan to write a book. Many little things and circumstances all contributed to one day starting to write down each day's thoughts of my heart on a piece of paper carried in my pocket, the collection of which has now become the book: Love, Life, and Hope.

The poems written for this book were written to entertain the reader, and I hope that the reader takes something out of it in a positive way. The majority of the poems that I have written were written for the person's everyday point of view and derive from the surroundings and goings-on in daily lives. These poems were written from an idea that has brought them to life with paper and ink.
