Swift writes that he has just returned from being away and found waiting for him an autographed copy of "The Man with a Hoe." He is very happy to have it. Swift writes that Markham has done a noble thing for the world.

Swift talks about Buster John and would like to give it a little punch. Mentions some commenst in regards to the "Younger Choir." He apologizes for the proofreading and is "sorry that you cived to see this mad murder in th world abroad. He wishes Markham would write about it.

Reminder that Mr. and Mrs. Markham is to join with her at the Hotel Martanique at 12:15 PM sharp on Friday with the Author's League luncheon. She tells Markham that she has been on a speaking tour and Markham's name always comes up in the conversation. She is working on several books in which she would like Mr. Markham to write the introductions. She mentions that both she and Dr. Snow will tour the US & England and promote the League of Fostering Genious.

Writer thanks Markham for his letter of the 7th, and wishes to "present my cordial compliments and grateful appreciation." Writer agrees with Markham that the poem "The Ballad of the Gallows-Bird" is equal and perhaps in some respects superior to "The Man with the Hoe."

La Prade writes Markham who appreciates his word in his own handwriting on behalf of the Poet's Garden. La Prade writes that the Poetry Garden has given so much happiness to people in the past year, and they celebrated Markham's recent birthday. They will be reading his poetry Christmad Eve and La Prade wishes he could be with them. She wishes to know how "Edwin of the Song" is going.
