Lo más auténtico de nuestro ser no está en la superficie, ni siquiera en la inteligencia, sino en el descubrimiento de eso que llamamos "sabiduría divina", que se nos transmite en el contacto con la palabra, escuchada con el corazón y reflexionada también con un corazón sencillo, como de hijo que confía en su padre/madre. No todos los 30 capítulos tienen la misma longitud. Unos son más para ser leídos y otros, para ser trabajados. He buscado, en todos, palabras necesitadas de rescate, de actualización, palabras esenciales, como: voluntad, libertad, eucaristía, fe, perdón, Nueva Evangelización, familia, luz, oración, prueba, sufrimiento, servicio, vida cristiana, vida consagrada, acción de gracias, cuaresma, sanación, conversión, corrección fraterna, María, política y cristianismo... He tenido una doble intención: que pueda ser leído por adultos y jóvenes; y que los padres o educadores puedan usarlo con sus hijos o alumnos.

He studied in France and nearby Senegal. Later he obtained a licentiate in theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, followed by a licentiate in Sacred Scripture at the Studium Biblicum Franciscanum of Jerusalem. At the age of thirty-four he became the youngest Bishop in the Catholic Church when John Paul II appointed him the Archbishop of Conakry, Guinea, in 1979. His predecessor had been imprisoned by the Communist government for several years, and when Archbishop Sarah was targeted for assassination John Paul II called him to Rome to be Secretary of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples. In 2010 Pope Benedict XVI named him Cardinal and appointed him Prefect of the Pontifical Council Cor Unum. Pope Francis made him Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in 2014.

A brilliant biography of one of the intellectual mavericks of 20th Century Catholicism. Richard John Neuhaus (1936-2009) was one of the most influential figures in American public life from the Civil Rights era to the War on Terror. His writing, activism, and connections to people of power in religion, politics, and culture secured a place for himself and his ideas at the center of recent American history. William F. Buckley, Jr. and John Kenneth Galbraith are comparable -- willing controversialists and prodigious writers adept at cultivating or castigating the powerful, while advancing lively arguments for the virtues and vices of the ongoing American experiment. But unlike Buckley and Galbraith, who have always been identified with singular political positions on the right and left, respectively, Neuhaus' life and ideas placed him at the vanguard of events and debates across the political and cultural spectrum. For instance, alongside Abraham Heschel and Daniel Berrigan, Neuhaus co-founded Clergy Concerned About Vietnam, in 1965. Forty years later, Neuhaus was the subject of a New York Review of Books article by Garry Wills, which cast him as a Rasputin of the far right, exerting dangerous influence in both the Vatican and the Bush White House.
