What really happens to human consciousness at death? How might love and immortality be related? What is purgatory and do most religions teach the concept of purgatory? What is spirituality? Is the essence of the mystery we call "God" the same for the Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jew, and Muslim? Is it more important what my religion teaches me to believe, or is it more important that my religion enables me to become more loving and compassionate? How might one practice a reverence for life by our food choices? How do we balance work and spirituality? How do we balance spirituality and social-justice work? In this collection of sermons and reflections, Floyd Vernon Chandler suggests that there are many valid spiritual paths to Enlightenment and Holiness. Understanding the mystery we call "God" is akin to the story of five blind men touching different parts of a huge elephant. Each man's description and understanding of the elephant will vary based upon the location of his touch. The importance of any religion is determined by how much our respective spiritual paths lead us to grow in love and compassion for one another and for all other forms of life on this planet. The sermon and reflections found in Beyond the Grave: Love and Immortality express a Universalist theology that all souls will eventually be reunited with the mystery we call "God." Inherent in this collection of writings is the belief that there is truth in all religions and that there are many valid spiritual paths. No religious dogma or ideology has a monopoly on truth.

Excerpt from Israel's Hope of Immortality: Four Lectures One last caution remains. Those who believe that in the Old Testament we have the record of a revelation, partial and fragmentary indeed, but divinely inspired and leading up to the mani testation of our Lord in the fullness of time, will realize that in many cases the statements of Old Testament writers and the ideas which they embody are susceptible of a deeper significance when read in the fuller light of New Testament revelation. Thus, for example, our Lord Himself teaches that the words of revelation to Moses at Horeb, I am the God of thy F ather, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, ' contain implicitly the doctrine of a life beyond the grave, since God is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living We are not, however, at present concerned with this fuller significance which may be read into the Old Testa ment Scriptures. What we have to determine is the character of certain conceptions at the time at which they were enunciated, and the impression which they produced upon those who heard and debated, accepted or rejected them. The ethics and philosophy of Freemasonry depend on monotheistic religions and the ancient constitution of the Freemasons. The constitution describes the rules and rituals that members must follow. Some of the ceremonies incorporate stonemasonry tools, which symbolize not only the construction of Solomon’s Temple, but also the forging of partnerships. While masonic practices are cloaked in secrecy, this collection gathers the best-known sources portraying the statutes, laws, symbols, rituals, and customs of Masonic societies. Contents: THE PRINCIPLES OF MASONIC LAW THE SYMBOLISM OF FREEMASONRY THE MYSTERIES OF FREE MASONRY MORALS AND DOGMA OF THE ANCIENT AND ACCEPTED SCOTTISH RITE OF FREEMASONRY PROOFS OF A CONSPIRACY WASHINGTON'S MASONIC CORRESPONDENCE MASONIC MONITOR OF THE DEGREES OF ENTERED APPRENTICE
