The Ancestor of the Monarch's Lake returned to the Land of the Nine Prefectures after 150,000 years. After waking up, he only worked on two things. One was to find a lover who appeared in his dreams, and the other was to steal the Ancestral God's worry-free manor for his betrothal gift ...His slumber had caused her to awaken, and the next time he woke up, it was destined that their Yin and Yang would be separated. He had waited for her for 130,000 years without obtaining a single fruit. He controlled the nine levels of the Demon Sealing Pagoda, causing all the demons to tremble in fear. They fell into a deep sleep because of her, and woke up because of her.He forgot that the first Resurrection Lily was originally placed in the hands of the Ancestor of the Monarch Lake. When the Resplendent Resurrection Lily bloomed, she bloomed into a flower of her own.On the fifteenth day of the seventh month, the middle moon was full. He stepped on the clouds and entered her dream."I accept the world as my betrothal, the four seas as my gift, and the person I am willing to exchange for is to join my Lovesick Sect."

Sensual, poignant and sinister, this is a story of obsession - and survival. Rachel fends for herself in a country brought to its knees. Since Jason left two years ago, she only ventures beyond the safety of her storm wall when food supplies dwindle. Her one contact with the outside world is through Noah, who runs the market. Hoping he might be the answer to her isolation, she proposes a date. When another man turns up in Noah's place, she is intrigued and repelled in equal measure. And when Noah denies all knowledge, she sets out to track down the stranger. Could this be a new beginning, or is she being drawn into a dangerous game?

This extraordinary graphic novel is a powerful denunciation of sexual violence against women. As seen through the eyes of a twelve-year-old girl named Una, it takes place in northern England in 1977, as the Yorkshire Ripper, a serial killer of prostitutes, is on the loose and creating panic among the townspeople. As the police struggle in their clumsy attempts to find the killer, and the headlines in the local paper become more urgent, a once self-confident Una teaches herself to "lower her gaze" in order to deflect attention from boys. After she is "slut-shamed" at school for having birth control pills, Una herself is the subject of violent acts for which she comes to blame herself. But as the police finally catch up and identify the killer, Una grapples with the patterns of behavior that led her to believe she was to blame. Becoming Unbecoming combines various styles, press clippings, photo-based illustrations, and splashes of color to convey Una's sense of confusion and rage, as well as sobering statistics on sexual violence against women. The book is a no-holds-barred indictment of sexual violence against women and the shame and blame of its victims that also celebrates the empowerment of those able to gain control over their selves and their bodies. Una (a pseudonym) is an artist, academic, and comics creator. Becoming Unbecoming, which took seven years to create, is her first book. She lives in the United Kingdom.
