This is a detailed ceremony to honor Lord Surya. The Surya Narayan Puja helps people who want good health, prosperity, good eyesight, strength, success, and courage. This puja is also a cure for chronic diseases such as heart problems, blood circulation, blood pressure asthma, leprosy, nervous system ailments, etc. It will help people with lack of intelligence, poor perception, weakness of will and character. It reduces lack of endurance, low vitality, melancholy, fear, dependency or servitude, deviousness or dishonesty. An overly strong but ill-disposed Sun creates pride, arrogance, tyranny and control. It creates much of the same problems as Mars. This puja can help the person to overcome them

On the cult of Sūrya (Hindu deity) and its astrological implications.

Composed by the great sage of Advaita Vedanta, Adi Sankara, this work gives an exposition of the symbols of puja (worship) in light of Nonduality. Written as a dialogue between a disciple and a Guru, the disciple first asks, “What manner of worship is prescribed for the One existing as undivided Being-Consciousness-Bliss with no second, without misconceptions, and of one nature?” He then asks similar questions about the details of such in the context of utmost Nonduality, and, starting with the ninth verse, the Guru replies in the light of the Knowledge of that utmost Nonduality.
