With suitable means of measuring ability one can determine the amount of improvement in the given ability due to any given method used. Evidently a suitable means of measuring must be Objective. The personal, or subjective, element must be eliminated, in order to arrive at accuracy similar to that obtainable with the meter-stick or the foot-rule (9, The purpose of this study is to derive scales for measuring the results of physics teaching and to show some of their uses and applications as means of objective measurement.
