Other circum stances also increase the incompleteness. It is greatly to be regretted that we' have so little information of many of the men who played a prominent part in the early history of the town. For the chapter on Pembroke in the Revolution, besides the town records, we have gleaned from the Revolutionary Rolls of the New Hampshire State Papers, and all other known accessible sources.
