When his daughters were very young, Jerry Thanos would make up stories to tell them. His oldest daughter, Alexandra, would ask to be told stories during car rides and loved to be read to at night. When the twins, Katherine and Elizabeth, were toddlers, he would make up bedtime stories about three princesses. The children would add their ideas to the stories and eventually the princesses came into the possession of a flying tiger. After awhile, a few of the stories found their way into poems which Jerry had printed and bound for his "Princesses". The girls did not want to share their stories with the rest of the world but they did give their daddy permission to publish the Christmas story so that other children could enjoy their holiday adventure. Jerry is a physician by trade, practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in Orange county California. He has enjoyed writing poetry since he was very young. "A Princess Christmas" marks his return to writing after a very long hiatus.
