Find Reality in Jesus Christ God's people in the Old Testament experienced only shadows of the truth about sin and salvation; their perception was dim and incomplete. But Jesus, with his once-for-all perfect sacrifice, brings the blurred shadows into focus and allows us crystal-clear understanding of God's reality. In showing us the way to please God, the writer to the Hebrews contrasts Old Testament sacrifices with the abundant, life-changing grace available in Jesus Christ. 13 sessions for individuals or groups Fisherman Bible Studyguides include: . Long before smart phones and the digital lifestyle appeared on the horizon, James spoke wisdom to anyone who will listen: "Blessed are doers of the word, not hearers only." Information is great but even the best information, the word of God, is incomplete without action. Action is the real currency of the twenty-first century. James: Recipe for a Living Faith is a six-week instruction manual on the Christian faith, penned by James, a younger brother of Jesus. In this study, the reader will consider topics that are essential to a dynamic and powerful faith journey: faith and works, staying faithful under persecution, partiality in the body of Christ, patience, the importance of taming the tongue, and prayer

In the nineteenth century, it was a common belief that Native Americans were the descendants of the Ten Lost Tribes of Israel. Ethan Smith wrote on this topic, and in so doing, challenged the dismissal of the Indigenous Americans by European settlers. Smith used biblical scripture, similarities in the Hebrew and Native American languages and their name for God, and other points of evidence to prove the connection between Israel and the First Nations. From there he showed how the reunited Hebrew tribes would be restored to Zion before the end of the world. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of Smith's book is that it is said to have influenced the Book of Mormon, which was published about seven years after later. As a child, Smith moved away from religion after his parents died but found his way back before he turned 20 and worked in the ministry until his death. Smith wrote several books while serving in the ministry in which he explored prophecies and baptism, among other subjects. But this book remains one of the most controversial of all his publications.
