Every family has favourite recipes that have passed down through the generations. I have spent a good part of my life wishing someone in our family would take the time to compile some of their favourites. As children we were encouraged to express ourselves through cooking. Many of these recipes have been tried, tested and loved by all. They have been expressed in a level that even the youngest reader can attempt their first creations without fear of failure. Take this book and make it your recipe box, mark the recipes you love, add your own to the extra pages provided and encourage future generations to pass them on. A small wish but a great demand. Our family is a circle of love and strength. With every birth and every union, the circle grows. Every joy shared adds more love. Every crisis faced together makes the circle stronger. Memories have been cherished as well as our recipes.

I was born in Swan River Manitoba and raised in Kamsack Saskatchewan. I left home at seventeen and spent twenty six years in the Canadian military. My life has taken me through such a series of diverse events that the desire to share the stories that touched my life became a life goal. I believe everyone has a story to share and from each story another can be told. We relate to life events from experiences related by others. This book has no real beginning or end it is a mere snapshot in time. I purposely wrote this book using no names so others could relate to stories within their own life. We all have had people that impacted our lives and at that time there stories have moved us. Once gone they are not forgotten but some of their unique stories are. Read, enjoy, share.

Self-Action Leadership (Volumes 1 and 2) provides the first, and only, books of their kind in the academic world today. This two volume set single-handedly carves out a new and unique scholarly niche by providing the first comprehensive and secular manual to holistically address society’s universal need for personal leadership and character education. Its single-minded aim is the global promotion and proliferation of leadership, character, and life skills education in nations, communities, organizations, schools, homes, and individual lives everywhere. The concept of Self-Action Leadership (SAL) is rooted in 30 years of extensive research spanning the fields of self-leadership, leadership, action research, character education, and autoethnography. In addition to drawing on the scholarship of these extant fields, SAL simultaneously builds upon them by introducing an original theory and model that executives, administrators, scholars, teachers, and practitioners alike can universally utilize to their own advantages and to the benefit of their colleagues, subordinates, and students. Volume I—The Self-Action Leadership Theory—contains prefacing material for the combined texts. It also includes the first four book sections of the two volume set.

My desire in coming out with this book is to encourage more people to take up cooking - as a hobby or to put a tasty meal on the table for the family and friends. Some of my recipes can be traced to a few generations, so you can't get it any more authen-tic.The many ideas and tips picked up on my travels and from personal experience as well are included here. I hope these will not only help you conserve time and energy but aid the budget conscious homemakers/home economists too. So bring out that passion in you and use these tips to your advantage. I have taken both Asian and Western palates into consideration when presenting my recipes. Everyone now has an opportunity to explore the art of exotic Indian cooking as well as traditional local flavours with all its wonderful spices.
