What happens to seed when planted in fertile soil? In a natural sense when a farmer plants seed in fertile soil, he expects his crop to yield fruit according to the seed planted. The soil was chosen by the farmer as was the seed. When a farmer plants he expects the seed to germinate and grow and eventually produce fruit. Fruit that could be counted for some hundred, some sixty, and some thirty. God who we can say is the farmer has chosen the soil and called it "good ground" meaning as a believer "I was predestined". "He predestined us to be adapted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will" Ephesians 1:5 (KJV). Similar It was the pleasure and will of plant seed, in his chosen soil, expecting to yield fruit. So, Jesus chooses the same analogy for those who are called, choosing to plant his "word" on the fertile soil "me" and every other believer.
