This volume analyses the most important problems and challenges that health, age and the environment introduce in the labour market, and how these factors affect both the way people work and their rights. The contributions here focus on the main challenges for social security systems, lawmakers and trade unions, and provide important solutions to improve workers’ rights and guarantee the viability of public social security systems. Other topics analysed here include dress-codes and whistleblowing in companies. From the labour point of view, workers’ representatives and trade unions must take action in collective bargaining to deal with these topics and adequately protect the workforce. The authors here are drawn from countries such as Hungary, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Poland, Brazil and Colombia, providing a global perspective. The book will appeal to lawyers, legal and human resources experts, economists, judges, academics and staff from trade unions and employers’ representation. El uso excesivo de recursos naturales (bosques, pesca, agua potable ), el aumento de la contaminación y el cambio climático están acelerando la pérdida de la biodiversidad, destruyendo los ecosistemas y amenazando, incluso, con sobrepasar la capacidad del planeta. En esta situación, la economía verde parece ya una necesidad que no sólo tendrá efectos positivos en el medioambiente, sino que además podrá actuar como yacimiento de empleo merced a la creación y/o proliferación de los denominados empleos verdes , ya sea en ocupaciones surgidas ex novo, ya como consecuencia de ecologizar sectores tradicionales. En los últimos años se han generado millones de puestos de trabajo relacionados con la sostenibilidad y el respeto por el medioambiente. Factores como la concienciación ciudadana, la legislación ambiental, las políticas de prevención y conservación o el desarrollo tecnológico han impulsado la creación de una economía verde que parece ser la respuesta a la recesión económica sufrida y a los cambios climáticos cada vez más preocupantes. El Trabajo Fin de Grado que a continuación se expone hace un recorrido por los aspectos más significativos relacionados con el empleo verde, ofreciendo, tras la oportuna delimitación conceptual, una visión general de cuestiones especialmente relevantes, tales como los riesgos laborales en tales ocupaciones, su potencial para la colocación de colectivos desfavorecidos en el mercado de trabajo (señaladamente, mujeres y personas con discapacidad) o la recopilación de hipótesis reales en las cuales la implantación de actividades verdes se ha afrontado de manera exitosa.

The economic future of Latin America and the Caribbean is intrinsically linked to climate change. In the context of a 21st century that will be marked by climate change and the global fight against it, the status quo is unlikely to help Latin American economies leap forward economically, which calls for a major rethinking of trade and investment strategies in the region. Across the region there is growing evidence of climate change - precipitation patterns are shifting, temperatures are rising, and some areas are experiencing changes in the frequency and severity of weather extremes such as floods and droughts. By 2050, it is estimated that climate change damage could cost USD 100 billion annually to the region. The impact of climate change, which will be more devastating in Latin America than in most parts of the world, also influences the region’s ability to trade and its long-term export prospects. A Latin American Green Deal, based on regional coordination to exploit existing synergies and economies of scale, could be the way forward.
