The workshop aimed to gather the electron scattering community to assess the present status of the experimental and theoretical research program at the electron scattering facilities that will be available in the near future. The topics discussed include nucleon form factors and deep inelastic structure functions, electro-production of nucleon resonances, final state interactions and nucleon-nucleon correlations in nuclei, electron-nucleon scattering with polarized beams and targets and nuclear transparency.

This book summarizes the considerable progress recently achieved in the understanding of nucleon and nuclear structure by using high energy electrons as a probe. A collection of papers discusses in detail the new frontiers of this field. Experimental and theoretical articles cover topics such as the structure of the nucleon, nucleon distributions, many-body correlations, non-nucleonic degrees of freedom and few-body systems. This book is an up-to-date introduction to the research planned with continuous beam electron accelerators.

Chiral Dynamics 2006 is the 5th International Workshop which examines the implications and the development of an approximate low-energy solution to the QCD Lagrangian based upon Chiral Symmetry. Advances in theory and experiment are presented in 20 plenary session papers along with more than one-hundred papers, including summaries, from the three working groups.

In recent years, the main research areas were photonuclear reactions and meson productions by using the first high-duty tagged photon beam and the TAGX spectrometer. Although this field is developing quite rapidly, the synchrotron was closed in 1999 after 37 years of operation, and these activities continue at new facilities.
