The first physics run of the superconducting Tevatron Collider at Fermilab ended this morning. A status report will be presented on the progress of the small angle elastic scattering and total cross section experiment, E710. The goals of this experiment are to measure the total proton-antiproton cross section from .sqrt.s = 300 to 2000 GeV, the slope of the diffraction peak and rho, the ratio of the real to imaginary part of the forward scattering amplitude, at these energies. 1 ref., 8 figs.

These proceedings contain descriptions of the latest experiments and results in a variety of hot topics, such as the growth of total cross sections, the ratio of real to imaginary parts of forward scattering amplitudes, etc. Current theories of particle interaction based on QCD were presented and confronted by the latest experimental results from FNAL, CERN, HERA and elsewhere. The theoretical situation seems less clear, or at least more open to argument and criticism, leveled by the different groups responsible and present at the workshop.

This report give the current status of E-710, an experiment at the Fermilab {bar p}p Tevatron Collider to measure elastic scattering, total cross sections and diffraction dissociation up to (square root)s = 1.8 TeV.
