This edition of the World Bank has been revised and expanded by the Terminology Unit in the Languages Services Division of the World Bank in collaboration with the English, Spanish, and French Translation Sections. The Glossary is intended to assist the Bank's translators and interpreters, other Bank staff using French and Spanish in their work, and free-lance translator's and interpreters employed by the Bank. For this reason, the Glossary contains not only financial and economic terminology and terms relating to the Bank's procedures and practices, but also terms that frequently occur in Bank documents, and others for which the Bank has a preferred equivalent. Although many of these terms, relating to such fields as agriculture, education, energy, housing, law, technology, and transportation, could be found in other sources, they have been assembled here for ease of reference. A list of acronyms occurring frequently in Bank texts (the terms to which they refer being found in the Glossary) and a list of international, regional, and national organizations will be found at the end of the Glossary.

La firma electrónica es un instrumento tecnológico que, con plena seguridad, permite a los sujetos identificarse y manifestar su consentimiento en las relaciones articuladas a través de redes telemáticas. No obstante, esta solución técnica ha suscitado significativas incógnitas tales como el valor jurídico de este tipo de firma o el régimen legal de los prestadores de servicios de certificación que hacen posible este instrumento. Con todo, las cuestiones precedentes no son las únicas. El contrato que vincula al firmante y al emisor de la firma -el desconocido contrato de certificación electrónico- es otra fuente de interrogantes que exige un estudio exhaustivo. Por ello, no es de extrañar que, entre otros muchos aspectos, cuestiones tales como la propia naturaleza y el contenido del contrato, la controvertida figura de los certificados o el propio régimen de responsabilidad al que se encuentran sometidas las partes sean objeto de estudio en estas páginas. The book provides detailed descriptions, including more than 550 mathematical formulas, for more than 150 trading strategies across a host of asset classes and trading styles. These include stocks, options, fixed income, futures, ETFs, indexes, commodities, foreign exchange, convertibles, structured assets, volatility, real estate, distressed assets, cash, cryptocurrencies, weather, energy, inflation, global macro, infrastructure, and tax arbitrage. Some strategies are based on machine learning algorithms such as artificial neural networks, Bayes, and k-nearest neighbors. The book also includes source code for illustrating out-of-sample backtesting, around 2,000 bibliographic references, and more than 900 glossary, acronym and math definitions. The presentation is intended to be descriptive and pedagogical and of particular interest to finance practitioners, traders, researchers, academics, and business school and finance program students.
