Ford contends that radical politics needs educational theory, posing a series of educational questions pertinent to revolutionary movements: How can pedagogy bridge the gap between what is and what can be, while respecting the gap and its uncertainty and contingency? This book promotes the well-being of the commons through representation and accountability through monitoring from below in order to operationalize engagement. This book views the commons as a legal concept, a transformative governance concept, and a basis for systemic ethics. By considering these different stakeholders, the goal is to highlight ways to regenerate and invigorate employment opportunities. As ecological issues increase and concern worldwide is mounting about the changing nature of work and cultural life, the field of adult education must respond.
