The book is a collection of high-quality peer-reviewed research papers presented at the International Conference of Experimental and Numerical Investigations and New Technologies (CNNTech2021) held at Zlatibor, Serbia, from June 29 to July 2, 2021. The book discusses a wide variety of industrial, engineering, and scientific applications of the engineering techniques. Researchers from academia and industry present their original work and exchange ideas, experiences, information, techniques, applications, and innovations in the field of mechanical engineering, materials science, chemical and process engineering, experimental techniques, numerical methods, and new technologies.

With 140 contributions by authors from 19 different countries, XVIII International Symposium of Organizational Sciences – SymOrg 2022 successfully sets the high level for future conferences. The topic of SymOrg 2020, “Sustainable Business Management and Digital Transformation: Challenges and Opportunities in the Post-COVID Era”, attracted researchers from different institutions, both in Serbia and abroad. This year, more than 300 scholars and practitioners authored and co-authored scientific and research articles that had been accepted for publication in the Book of Abstracts. The participation of numerous domestic and international authors and the diversity of topics justify our efforts to organize the Symposium. As SymOrg is traditionally at the intersection of academy and business, we believe that this year’s meeting will bring about many in-depth discussions, contribute to prospective partnerships, and build stronger business and academic networks. We also believe that meeting will contribute to the exchange of knowledge, research results and experience among industry experts, research institutions and faculties, which all share a common interest in contemporary organizational sciences. This book presents selected papers from the 3rd International Workshop on Computational Engineering held in Stuttgart from October 6 to 10, 2014, bringing together innovative contributions from related fields with computer science and mathematics as an important technical basis among others. The workshop discussed the state of the art and the further evolution of numerical techniques for simulation in engineering and science. We focus on current trends in numerical simulation in science and engineering, new requirements arising from rapidly increasing parallelism in computer architectures, and novel mathematical approaches. Accordingly, the chapters of the book particularly focus on parallel algorithms and performance optimization, coupled systems, and complex applications and optimization.

This book is based on the concept that optimization, as the core engineering practice, is a bridge to relate the given problem constraints to an acceptable level of uncertainties for the corresponding solution. Over two sections, this book addresses optimization techniques and parameters for engineering problems, corresponding uncertainties in engineering optimization solutions and methods to manage them, and managing uncertainties to support environmental pollution prevention and control.

Intelligent computing addresses areas such as intelligent and distributed computing, intelligent grid and cloud computing, internet of things, soft computing and engineering applications, data mining and knowledge discovery, semantic and web technology, hybrid systems, agent computing, bioinformatics, and recommendation systems. Intelligent communication is concerned with communication and network technologies, such as mobile broadband and all optical networks that are the key to groundbreaking inventions of intelligent communication technologies. It includes communication hardware, software and networked intelligence, mobile technologies, machine-to-machine communication networks, speech and natural language processing, routing techniques and network analytics, wireless ad hoc and sensor networks, communications and information security, signal, image and video processing, network management, and traffic engineering. Lastly, intelligent devices are any equipment, instruments, or machines that have their own computing capability. As computing technology becomes more advanced and less expensive, it can be incorporated an increasing number of devices of all kinds. This area covers such as embedded systems, radiofrequency identification (RFID), radiofrequency microelectromechanical system (RF MEMS), very-large-scale integration (VLSI) design and electronic devices, analog and mixed-signal integrated circuit (IC) design and testing, microelectromechanical system (MEMS) and microsystems, solar cells and photonics, nanodevices, single electron and spintronics devices, space electronics, and intelligent robotics.
