To provide middle and high school students of mixed ability with a basic civics text stressing citizen participation in civic life, how government at all levels works, and how the economy operates in the world today.

A civics program building the next generation of active Americans, Civics Today: Citizenship, Economics, and You meets the content standards for civics and government as outlined by the National Standards for Civics and Government. The simple yet challenging goal of this book is to deliberate the legitimacy, and advance the feasibility, of an important new concept—the notion of "global civics."
