Her eighteen-year-old daughter has just had a baby, her ex-husband's had a stroke and her eldest is having a breakdown. Even the Dr Who special is disappointing. To compensate, she gets Rab McGuire, a gift-wrapped male sex aid and an escaped chicken that won't be stuffed. The final chapter of the Stewarton trilogy ( The Wall and The Ducky), D. C. Jackson's The Chooky Brae premiered in a Borderline Theatre Company production at the Palace Theatre, Kilmarnock, in September 2010.

Fresh illustrations, a rollicking text, and a growing succession of cute little chicks make the counting go down easy. When one big-eyed chick fails to yank its prize worm from the ground, it’s time to bring in a friend—and then another, and another. But if adding a rooster to the crew still doesn’t do the trick, could it be that a worm isn’t always what it seems? Each turn of the page brings a new number and a new rhyme in this delightful debut from both author and illustrator.

Nine short stories that explore the effect of random chance on the lives of ordinary people.A Touch of Evil offers an answer to the eternal question: "What if?" Inspired by the work of Rod Serling in his seminal television series 'The Twilight Zone'&'Night Gallery', as well as 'The Outer Limits' & 'Twisted Tales', Touch of Evil poses questions, then offers possible answers that take the reader along pathways they may not wish to travel. For example: every day you follow a particular path in your life. But what happens when one tiny, but significant detail is changed-by fate, chance or just plain Luck? You fall asleep on a train & end up...where? That shortcut you're thinking of taking? You may not end up where you think you're going to & be careful of boxed chocolates delivered when you're not expecting them. Inside these pages you'll find things you take for granted in every day life turned ninety degrees. Just because it looks the same never means it is. A Touch of Evil. Just a tiny touch. Enjoy.

The Ties That Blind is quite appropriate to the time in consideration of the present growth of interest in religious and spiritual matters. Additionally, much of the storys prophetic content is extremely relevant to the events of September 11, 2001, although the book was completed prior to that date. The author skillfully depicts the realities of racial prejudice; much of the violence being recounted from his experience, while driving home the point that love always conquers hate. It is a true inspiration to people of faith, criminal justice practitioners, and those who fight for racial equality and brotherly love Arnold Gibbs is a Vietnam veteran and a of the Miami Police Departments Medal of Honor. He was raised in the Liberty City projects and knows, first hand, of the realities depicted in his novel. He has been a Christian for 25 years and is dedicated to his faith. All of these factors combine to provide the ingredients for a story that is a must read for people of faith, criminal justice practitioners, war veterans and activists for racial equality and harmony. There are not many authors who are as qualified and capable to bring to the reader such compelling drama as in The Ties That Blind.
